Liquids are now $199. Ouch. Seems like not long ago, they were $139.00. I wonder if the prices will go down a little once the supply chain issues eventually get resolved. Probably not.

Shipping via rondo direct has always been more expensive. I bought an SX bass a few months back and it was $19.95 on Reverb vs about $28 calculated on rondo direct. Sometimes the difference is a lot bigger.

As far as "why" it is that way, only Kurt knows. I would personally say take advantage of the cheaper rates on reverb while you can ( assuming the guitar is available of course ) because shipping prices in general are not going down anytime soon.

I remember the $139 Liquid, I think that was with the basswood body. Whatever they call basswood is seriously soft wood. Too soft IMO.
Alder is also pretty soft, but quite a bitter harder than their basswood.

I paid around $185 shipped almost 3 years ago for the alder body, much preferred, and yeah Reverb shipping was under $20.

Unless things have changed, the shipping number on Rondo direct is a bad estimate with little relation to what you end up getting charged. The Reverb numbers provide more certainty.

no real regret about it.
I carted that (just curious) one and the shipping to NJ is $34.13.

A question for the Liquid owners - what do you use for a case or a bag? It looks like a non-fitted hard case would be your only real option. The Liquid doesn't look terribly bag- or case-friendly, although no worse than a Firebird I suppose.

I got a Gibson Cordura Firebird padded gig bag for around $30 on ebay shortly after the Liquid in July 2018.
very thickly padded.

They were common then; I dont see them now.
