My wife and I are going to do a 6 day Vegas / Western Grand Canyon / Hoover Dam trip in August. We don't gamble, but are looking forawrd to seeing the sights, shows & Food.

What do you recommend? Any 'must see' things for guitar fans?

Can’t think of anything guitar specific right now, but I love Tom Devlin’s Monster Museum in Boulder City if you find yourself driving around.

I hear that it's beautiful there that time of year.

It might be worth going to Ed Roman's place just to see it. That guy was a legend in his own mind, time and area code.

Tell Ed Roman about TBJohn's collection and that he should hang his head in respect while getting his pic taken holding a "Hello AGF" sign. He will gain all our appreciation, and we will have an epic picture.

And don't forget to rebury his corpse when you're done snapping the pic.

I went to Vegas with my band once. We were there for three days, and that was two days too long. I felt like I needed a scrub-down (like in the movie 'Silkwood') after I left. I recommend you skip Vegas and spend that time at the Grand Canyon instead.

But you're gonna go... because you haven't seen it, and I totally get that. :)

If what I read about the man is true, it's probably perfectly preserved and lying in state in the store. Or someone in the back whipped up a fake out of cheap parts.

Forget the drive, take Jackpot Airlines to Vegas.

I don’t drink. I don’t smoke. I don’t gamble. Still love Vegas! Used to go 2-3 times per year for work. I’ll be there end of June and possibly end of August as well. June trip with wife and our 10 year old daughter, her Vegas first. Blue Man Group one of my favorite shows. Batista’s Hole in the Wall one of my favorite restaurants. Feel free to pm me and let me know what you like and maybe I can give you some ideas. Have a good trip!!

Aw man that’s awesome!! Lived 3 hrs away in high desert, used to there for weekends in the 90’s.

Been to those places, places u should see.

I would definitely check to see who’s got residency at the time. Like I’d love to Def Leppard if they’re still there.

I’m jealous!!!

Unfortunately, looks like the residency dates were in 2019...

I've been there 3 times, all for work (trade shows). I was actually there last week, the first convention opening up the new convention center there. They have a Tesla loop driving underground from one end of the center to the other. I thought that was pretty neat, though it's not open to the general public.

For vacation in that area, I'd spend most of my time at Zion or other natural places around there vs the city itself. One night is enough to see the lights and whatnot.
If I had something witty to say, I'd put it here.
