I just got my tickets for Willie's Outlaw Music Festival in October up in Phoenix.
Wish it were one of the tour stops with Sturgill Simpson or Nathaniel Rateliff, but... Gov't Mule, Avett Bros, and Lucinda Williams along with Willie and family should still be a decent show.
Only band I can say I've not heard of is Ida Mae...
Concerts and festivals are coming back and I am excited
It was like $50 plus the typical service fee ripoff just to send me a eticket...Flatline wrote:From what I’ve seen so far the ticket prices of shows in late summer and early fall is up 200-300% or more.
Seems about normal for a night of music. It not like a Joe Bonamassa ticket or something crazy...

That is pretty reasonable compared to most of the shows I've seen so far.honyock wrote: ↑Wed May 26, 2021 11:47 pmIt was like $50 plus the typical service fee ripoff just to send me a eticket...Flatline wrote:From what I’ve seen so far the ticket prices of shows in late summer and early fall is up 200-300% or more.

Yep, got my tickets for a Rhythm and Roots 3-day camping festival for Labor Day, in Rhode Island. Time to air out the tent!
Technically we should attend Acadiens et Creoles in Lafayette in October, coupled with a NOLA stay, no bookings yet. Canebrake and Abita are the local beers of choice...!
The local open mike I spectate reverts to in-person in June. I am thinking of handing roses or something crazy like that!

The other farm cats didn’t super love him but the chickens thought he was alright so he became a chicken.
There were cheaper $30 lawn seats or more expensive center stage seats in the same level as me, closer got more stupid, but the fees were basically the same for all.Flatline wrote:That is pretty reasonable compared to most of the shows I've seen so far.honyock wrote: ↑Wed May 26, 2021 11:47 pmIt was like $50 plus the typical service fee ripoff just to send me a eticket...Flatline wrote:From what I’ve seen so far the ticket prices of shows in late summer and early fall is up 200-300% or more.

I imagine if there were some bigger acts on the ticket like Chris Stapleton is on the Austin your stop, it would probably be more expensive.

Well I ponied up the $$ to go to the Joe Bonamass concert here in town. It was the first show post-china virus, just last month, and the seating was in 3-4 seat pods (spaced out), which thus the venue was prob 25% capacity. That, how much I like his music, and how Joe supports other musicians with funding efforts I didn't mind. Gotta say tho, I've seen him like 3-4 times and this was a horrible show, the worst I've seen him. I didn't mind the $$, but at any cost that show sucked.
And then recently I saw a smaller local show at a cool outside venue at our entertainment complex here the VBC, I saw 38 Special and Molly Hatchet. It was good, beautiful weather. Man I was so drunk at that show, that's another story.... Then I saw Ally Venable (young blues guitarist, which pls check her out if you like) locally and I really enjoyed her.
But I am too excited that concerts are coming around. I have tix for these shows within the next year (just about anytime someone comes around that I like, I get the tix):
Larkin Poe, Colin Hay, Greg Howe, Collective Soul, Alan Parsons Project, Styx
