…hypothetically speaking, I mean. Let´s just assume it is going to happen, although it is not at the moment. Just play this game along with me. Let´s bring some joy to my day - and yours too -, ok?

Let´s say that I´m going to visit the town/city/state where you live. Let´s even say that we meet (that would be great!). Regarding food and typical/popular dishes, what should I try before leaving your place, what is it that you like to eat a lot? As in, don´t dare to leave before trying XXXXXX! Better if you can also post a pic.

Hints:
I LOVE sweet things (donuts, cakes, beverages, etc.).
I like vegetables, but make no mistake: I´m a meat lover (beef, poultry, fish, etc.), so be sure that your suggestions include some of it.
I also LOVE pizza, the thicker the better.

Ok, so, what would you recommend?

Not for now, unfortunately. There might be a veeery slight chance, but nothing really solid as we speak, Mickey.

But ok, I´ll let you know so we can do the food tour! If there´s live music too, nothing would be better! :)

I'm from New Hampshire (NH), but am only a few hours away from the Atlantic ocean, and on the coast in Maine or NH we would have Lobster rolls, clam chowder, scallops, fried clams....then fresh raspberry pie with local made ice cream smothered in real maple syrup.

The last time I was in Maine, I ate labstah in a real gourmet restaurant:

An "old timer" (real Maineiac) told me McDonalds isn't REAL labstah, it is Canadian labstah.

We always take out of towners 2 places, El Charro Mexican restaurant where the chimichanga was originally invented, and El Guero Canelo to get Sonoran style hot dogs.

Open pit mesquite fired steaks are also good too.

In South Texas it's all about barbecue and Mexican food -

We barbecue beef brisket, sausage, chicken and turkey, but for me it's all about the brisket - https://www.traegergrills.com/recipes/c ... le-brisket

And while there is endless variety of great Mexican food, I think the ultimate is Tacos al Carbon, under the very specific condition of which restaurant (most places do a poor imitation of the real thing) - https://www.homesicktexan.com/2010/03/t ... ecipe.html

Fried chicken is quite the thing to some - Despite the name, this place is about the best - https://thebarbecueinn.com/

I'm in the midwest. If it weren't for family nearby, I'd move. We have a couple local-ish pizza places that are good. If you like fast food and chain food you'd be in the right place. If you like run down towns and corn and soy bean fields, you'd be in for a treat.

That would be very hard to resist! Yes, Ottawa is on the list! :)

I´d love each one of them!

Oh boy, I don´t have a problem with any of that. I like spicy meals. And those fired steaks sound very good!

A run down town is much better than a run down country as where I am :) Pizza and fast food places sounds like a VIP invitation to me. Should not be eating that at my 53, but... So, Yes, wait for me there! :)

Coincidentally, I have been waiting to offer up an "AGF Summer Retreat" to Steamboat for a week of jamming, gigging, outdoorsy stuff (if that's your thing), cool summer nights, etc. I hope to post a thread soon to gauge interest.

Regardless, you and everyone else are invited to pop in anytime. It's a resort town so we have a myriad of restaurants on a vibrant Main Street and more on the river a block away. However, nothing tastes better than a good dinner by a campfire (mandatory dutch oven dessert) or a potluck among friends.

Hope to see you soon.

I´d be more than happy to go to Steamboat for that AGF Summer Retreat and do all those things in my hypothetical trip to the US! That place looks beautiful.

As long as there are no wild bears showing up, I´d enjoy outdoor camping :)

Steamed Blue Crabs and anything that includes crab meat here in Maryland (and of course Old Bay seasoning). I'm big on broiled crab cakes and cream of crab soup!

Grimes's Chicken in Lexington KY. Well actually "Grimes's Fast Food". They're just an old fashioned American diner, killer chicken and potato wedges.
I haven't been in ages, but it's damn good food and super affordable.
I'll edit a picture from their Google or social media page in a sec.

Edit: here ya go.

They have all kinds of delicious food, but man, their chicken's where it's at. I'd recommend stopping by to anyone passing through Lexington.

Also if you're tryna get some Tacos, I'd recommend "Tortilleria y Taqueria Ramirez" also in Lexington, I'd actually recommend making a trip JUST to go there. Little hole in the wall of an old strip mall, but everything's fresh and absolutely delicious.

Bears galore.

In addition, you probably don't want to travel for thousands of miles to eat hypothetical pot luck food.
