So I have a green Agile Epic 625 that I really like...got it for under $200 shipped from GC a couple years ago and it's a killer axe with great specs - roasted neck, alder body, satin finish, stainless frets, etc. They were like $425 or so new: https://www.rondomusic.com/Agile_Epic_GR.html

Only problem is I never really bonded with the watermelon-like color scheme...the green finish with the bright red binding. For under $200 I could certainly live with it but I noticed a while back that they had also released a higher end version with a super classy color scheme and Fishman Modern pickups for $600, so I've been waiting to spot one used in the wild so I could pounce on it: https://www.rondomusic.com/Agile_Epic_6 ... e_Mod.html

Finally scored late last week and grabbed this one for just a hair over what the Fishman pickups alone would cost new. Just arrived today, and I'm definitely going to sell my green one in favor of this one. Besides the Fishman pickups that sound amazing this guitar also has a light satin finish on the back of the neck whereas the green one is just totally unfinished...feels a good amount better to me. Stainless frets are flawless too and the only QC issue I could find lookin' the guitar over head to toe is one tiny millimeter long spot where the binding isn't perfect on the inside of one of the horns.

I have absolutely no idea how Agile makes guitars of this quality at this price point, but I'm certainly not complaining. This is my 6th Agile and while I have other far more expensive guitars I will still snag a higher end Agile at a great price every single day of the week.

Pics below now that I've restrung it and tuned it to D Standard...whoever owned this before me had tree branches for strings on this thing and had it tuned to B. Clips coming this weekend.

Very nice - I remember the green one too, and those roasted maple necks look very nice. Did you sell the green one or still have it?

Still have it but going to get it sold soon. It’s an amazing guitar too, just not enough space :).

I could only aspire to those levels of addiction, with this new one I’m still at under 30 axes. I only buy new stuff nowadays if it’s to replace something else that then gets sold or it’s a REALLY great deal (in this case, it’s both). :)

Yessir correct, that’s always the case for any guitar I sell.

Thank you! The green one is great too but this one is more my style. I thought judging by what I saw that this was the exact same guitar as the green Epic in every regard minus the Fishman pups but the neck feel is totally different (finish wise). The green one has what feels like a totally unfinished neck, you could feel the grain of the maple...this one has a very light satin finish that's more along the lines of what Suhr does on their maple necks. Really neat!

Thanks! Really insane what Agile can turn out at these prices. This guitar was only like $600 new which is just wild, if Ibanez made this even in Indonesia it would be more than double that price.

Few more final pics now that it's all cleaned up and I'm done putting it through its paces. Really killer guitar, and I can comfortably say the Fishman pickups are going on my favorite humbuckers list. Will get a few clips up shortly as well!

Thanks man! I do really dig the color combo. I'll finally be getting around to some clips this evening so I'll update the thread with those. Really flexible pickups, these Fishmans!

Quick update here, having spent all of last night playing both of my Agile Epics (the white and the green) I've changed my mind about selling the green one...just too nice of a guitar to give up. Going to keep the white tuned a step down and the green in standard.

Here they are just twinnin', you can see the different levels of neck roast a bit in this photo with the green being a good amount darker. Swapped the pickups in the green a while back to a Bareknuckle Holy Diver/Dimarzio Steve Special, though the original pups were pretty damn solid too.
