Sorry to hear about your health problems, Patrick. I wasn't aware of that, or your other issues. While it can be difficult to determine tone in text, I don't think anyone here was quite at a level of "rage" over this. Ok, maybe Ryan got a little miffed, but I think we mostly wanted to see this come to resolution, and were wondering why you seemed to be remaining silent on the matter. Speaking for myself, I had no doubt that the situation could be worked out, but I did find the lack of response concerning. The loss of the original AGF is still fresh, and maybe we're still a little jumpy and shell-shocked, and afraid of losing this place too.

We won't lose this place. Member contributions bought us TWO YEARS of Hosting and we're coming up on our 1st Anniversary next month.

I've been trying to think of a way to have a "Contest" where the winner gets one of our "AxeShield" Protection Shrouds but I have no knowledge about how to do that in the site software.

Anyone have any ideas? Maybe I should post a separate thread for ideas?

Well, I didn't mean in that sense. I meant if you came back and responded like: "Yeah, well this is MY forum and what I say goes, and I'll delete your ass if I want to!". That just might have a disruptive effect... I mean, it would be HIGHLY unlikely that you would take that attitude, but I suppose anybody has the potential of going mad with power.

There's also always the potential for something to be perceived in an unintended way, or out of context, and have things escalate out of control... or out of proportion. We don't need to have tension or resentment amongst ourselves.

We used to have contests all the time on the old AGF. No need for software. Just start a thread describing the contest and establishing the rules, and go from there. What kind of contest did you have in mind?

Maybe a new thread would be better for discussing this.
