You can see what a band’s royalties from various streaming services are. It ain’t much in most cases.

Hummm, I see that Willie Nelson is only making $127,380 per month in royalties.

Yeah, but check a newer, mid-level band you like and consider the cost of paying the band and crew a living wage.

Similar situation for the photography industry in terms of photographers,

Every man and his dog has a camera with them at all times, capable of taking a good enough image for online consumption,

Making a living in photography these days is almost impossible, there are hundreds of thousands of ‘photographers’ on Instagram willing to allow huge corporations to use their images for nothing more than a mention,

The value of these things are less and less apparent to the younger generations, it’s all too easy.

That’s progress for you! Can we stop please?
