If you are worried about getting banned for the above, then I think we have a bigger problem than a couple F-bombs littered about.

It's a lot more than just the Fbombs and has been for a while.

Honestly @LightWingStudios - the AGF community is a lot different from other online BB's in that for the most part the people here are just plain honest. There is usually a lot less flaming/trolling because we all kind of trust each other. Sure sometimes we don't get along but we are all usually willing to make nice and tolerate each other after a flareup.

IMHO as the forum owner, you need to do the same - just be honest about what you want and then be consistent about it. If you don't want threads about firearms, then just put that in the rules and the mods can delete them. Not saying everyone will agree with that, but it's your site and people will honor that. But the man behind the curtain routine is the real problem - and as you can see it's eroding the trust of even your mods.

I really do enjoy this place, or at least what's left of it. Why not help us save it while we can?

I honestly thought it was an "autocorrect" because if I recall it used to change F*bombs to "oops."
It doesn't matter to me, I am careful of what I type not because I am self-righteous but rather they are like Smirnofff and I have exceeded my lifetime quota.
It doesn't matter to me except if we lose people. I love this place. It has helped me a lot as a string banger and a consumer and a person. Put your tissues away now, I won't get any more tear jerky.

I have 3 weeks towards the end of May that my one employee that I trust less than a fart during flu season will be out. I have a ton of material still, but we can order. Let me know what I for material in the next 2 weeks and we can make it happen.

I'm not a prude. I let the F-bombs fly in real life, but I tend to refrain from foul language on the forum, so this isn't the particular hill I want to die on. But I don't like censorship, or language control one little bit (regardless of the fine-print "agreement"). We're all adults here. I think we can all handle the kind of language one would hear in a PG-13 movie. But if that's the way Patrick wants it, I can let it slide... It irks me that we can't be treated like adults, but other forums have similar prohibitions, and I largely self-censor anyway, so I can't kick up much of a fuss about it. What I find bothersome, though, is that Patrick hasn't come forward to address the issue directly.

The settings might be in a control panel that sets potty mouth to "middle school", he might have had it set to adult and an update defaulted it back to "middle school." He might have been "born again" and set it to "LDS." Peace to my LDS friends.

He has posted multiple times on his Facebook account since his last posts here on Saturday, so it's not that he's not online.

Bottom line, he knows the score and has chosen to not respond. This issue has flared up multiple times, this is only the most publicly visible instance. This has been going on for months and is not just about the profanity, far from it.

First, as most folks know I've had health issues including just yesterday oral surgery for the SECOND TIME.

In the past when "profanity" has been used and I notice it I just went in and changed a few letters to abide by our "profanity is greatly discouraged" guidelines on our homepage.

I did this with no ill intent to censor anyone.

MY MISTAKE, for which apologize, was not taking the time to notify the member what I did and remind them of our agreed upon guideline.

If I wanted to be draconian the post would have been gone completely. I'm not and never will be that "heavy handed".

I have been relying on all of us acting and expressing ourselves in a civil manner which has been successful in but a few cases where I stepped in.

Please be aware again that I have had health issues the last 12 months that appear to be finally coming to an end.

That said, I have a wife, a life, a business to run, I've been trying to learn how to Orchestrate in my Home Studio and really don't have all that much time to exclusively devote to AGF INCLUDING READING EVERY POST.

Hence my spotty attendance.

So here we go...here is a "Definitive Posting Rule" for which I ask everyone including myself to abide by...

"Anything posted here should be in the same manner, tone, language and or words that would be said to our Mothers."

Again, we're all adults here and we should try and act like it. Yeah, we can all get whizzed off at something or someone that happens in our lives and all I'm asking is that if you bring it here TEMPER YOUR RAGE A BIT.

We should all rely on the Moderators to take care of this issue should it happen in the future.

I now return you to you regularly scheduled shenanigans.

Thanks for responding publicly Patrick, it is much appreciated. Hope that your recovery goes well from the surgery. Your posting makes sense regarding language usage. Would you care to address any TOPICS that might be considered off limits? For example, there have been entire threads removed that related to Firearms. I believe there have also been others. When I asked the moderators, the consensus was that none of them had removed the threads in question, and were not aware of why they were removed.

I do know that politics are listed as off limits in the main forum guidelines - are there any other topics we need to avoid? And if so, will the moderators be the ones doing the removing based on that?

For your information that is "canned verbiage" from the template used to build the site and this is the first time I've actually seen it...It was that important to me when trying to get a site up and running in less than a week.

I NEVER personally wrote that nor "tried to cover may ass" and finally, I DO take exception with the "Nazi" insinuation.

I would appreciate it if you would refrain from casting me in such a light in the future.

Sorry to hear about your health problems, Patrick. I wasn't aware of that, or your other issues. While it can be difficult to determine tone in text, I don't think anyone here was quite at a level of "rage" over this. Ok, maybe Ryan got a little miffed, but I think we mostly wanted to see this come to resolution, and were wondering why you seemed to be remaining silent on the matter. Speaking for myself, I had no doubt that the situation could be worked out, but I did find the lack of response concerning. The loss of the original AGF is still fresh, and maybe we're still a little jumpy and shell-shocked, and afraid of losing this place too.
