I have bought this Artist reissue and would like to lower the bridge a little. I can't seem to. I assume that it works like a slotted tune-o-matic does, but maybe I am wrong. Is the block stationary and the bridge adjust up and down through the block or does the whole block go up and down? On this guitar it looks like the block rises just a little above the top of the guitar. I have seen pictures of others that looks like the block is almost countersunk in the top.
I will do a full review on this if I keep it. It is fretting out in places and it really depends how much work I am going to need to put into it and if I am going to need to do a full fret level.
Need help understanding the old Ibanez Gibraltar bridge
I don't know but I'm a tinkerer, in the absence of an answer...
If you haven't changed the strings I would do that first to see if it does anything for your fret-outs.
While you have the strings off, see what pops off freely and what can be adjusted and how without tension, loosen before you tighten. When you've got your new strings on check if you need a truss rod adjustment.
