It’s only gotten worse since the local news station made this video. Drug addiction and mental illness is destroying the entire city.

For me, its the night John Lennon was shot. I was contacted that night by people to tell me that Lennon was killed. I put my radio on and then popped a cassette in the deck to record the shock of the announcements.

We can be thankful that their accomplishments continue.
"The man that hath no music in himself, nor is not moved with concord of sweet sounds, is fit for treasons, stratagems, and spoils. The motions of his spirit are dull as night, and his affections dark as Erebus. Let no such man be trusted."

It was SRV for me. To have that much talent, go through that much turmoil, only to crash in a helicopter.

Srv was a biggie for me at the time. I was on site and my company sent a texh I knew from another part of the org to pull me aside and let me know. They were afraid I'd have a meltdown? Anyway he was a good guy and we commiserated together.
I was on a job after hours when I heard about Layne. That one stopped me awhile but it was expected.
Its chris Cornell that woke me up from sleep and then I did meltdown some. Lots of people checked in with me on that one the next day.

Tom Petty's death has had the biggest impact on me. I miss that guy a lot. I can't listen to this without tearing up:

One of my favorites from him, for sure. An underrated gem.
