I just interviewed for a new job today, it seems like a really good opportunity and a place that is not just stable, but growing with big plans for the future. The folks I have interviewed with, we just seemed to click. It just seems like a perfect move for my career, staying in a familiar industry, yet expanding my experience level in other manufacturing processes.

I really wasn't looking, but I am pretty sure LinkedIn/Google/Facebook listened to my conversations with my wife regarding my job the past week. Literally the next day after I said something to my wife about looking for a new job, a recruiter messaged me about this opportunity.

Fingers crossed that an offer letter is in my immediate future.

Congrats, honyock, and best wishes.
Today is my last day at a place I've worked since mid-80's..did take 4 years away around 2000 AD.

The big changes I've made in my life have been good, even just for the making a change. I'll start my new job on Monday, work better suited to me, better pay, more autonomy, and with good friends already there.

I highly doubt the big tech spying has anything to do with the recruiter reaching out to you (that stuff is more reserved for ads that you get bombarded with than any actual interaction with humans doing a real job), but sounds exciting and I hope you get it!

Good luck. I did go through an unplanned job transition myself which I posted about and did find several opportunities via LinkedIn, it's a powerful network.

Even just logging into LinkedIn for the first time in a while will trigger recruiters. Also know that if you are a LinkedIn Premium member ( which a lot of recruiters and employers are ), you see a report of anyone who has viewed your profile or page on a daily basis. I have a premium acount for that very reason - that way I see anyone who looks at my information.

Good luck - I've been through a whole slough of interviews over the last year after getting laid off, at 50 it's quite a kicker to re-learn all those skills. May you have all the answers to whatever they may ask!

I did actually ask out of curiosity since the people at the new place we're wondering when the other shoe would drop since I am exactly what they were looking for at exactly the right time.

Paid LinkedIn results she said, so perhaps me finally updating my profile in February with some of the latest work experience made me pop up on the recruiter radar, because I had 3 other messages about jobs prior to this one. This just happened to be the only one that wouldn't require relocation.

Congrats! That’s exciting.

I’m impressed by anybody who changes jobs in this environment. Having said that, we hired a number of great people since Mar of last year

Hope it will bring good things for you and your family. "Guitar playing time" will remain the same, less, or more? (or none? :o )

Lots of good people are changing jobs this past year. I wouldn’t quit until you line something up, but lots of companies that are doing well and have the shit together are sniping the top people from the companies that didn’t handle things well and have lower morale.

I hope, lately I've been so busy/tired I am in bed by 830 or 9, or I am working on crap until the wee hours of the morning trying to catch up.

Medical injection molding has never been better, or more crazy. Lots of capital being poured into the industry.
