I have a few I want to sell I guess I need to get them listed which brings up a question I have a 2020 model AL 3200 I put a set of Seymour Duncan Whole Lotta Humbuckers in should I put the stock pups back in or sell it with the SD's and include the stock pups it's in excellent condition and was thinking $475 w/free shipping do you think that's reasonable I'm new to Agile bought my 1'st one last year here.

Maybe more like 12 months from now, I think. Sweetwater said they don't think they'll be back to a stable inventory until the latter half of 2021, and there's still demand, and people waiting for a particular guitar to come back in stock, etc., but as more people start to return to a more normal life, and/or begin to realize that maybe playing guitar isn't for them, there'll definitely be a glut in the used market... and it will be a buyer's market.

My rule of thumb has always been to return the guitar back to stock for sale, and sell the pickups separately. But then you have to sell the pickups, and I just don't have any enthusiasm for that anymore. When I sold my 3100MCC, I had a set of Tonerider pickups in there, and just left them in the guitar when I sold it. I took a bit of a hit on that one, but my time is worth something too, and I didn't feel like dealing with the push/pull pots.redman wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 11:49 pm I have a few I want to sell I guess I need to get them listed which brings up a question I have a 2020 model AL 3200 I put a set of Seymour Duncan Whole Lotta Humbuckers in should I put the stock pups back in or sell it with the SD's and include the stock pups it's in excellent condition and was thinking $475 w/free shipping do you think that's reasonable I'm new to Agile bought my 1'st one last year here.

Your price is way more than reasonable if you're including the Duncans and free shipping. You sure you want to do that? Shipping could cost anywhere from $60-$100.

99 out of 100 times you will get more selling the guitar as stock, or close to it, and the parts separately. Used buyers typically pay pennies on the dollar or sometimes even discount for mods and upgrades.redman wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 11:49 pm I have a few I want to sell I guess I need to get them listed which brings up a question I have a 2020 model AL 3200 I put a set of Seymour Duncan Whole Lotta Humbuckers in should I put the stock pups back in or sell it with the SD's and include the stock pups it's in excellent condition and was thinking $475 w/free shipping do you think that's reasonable I'm new to Agile bought my 1'st one last year here.

You know it is really interesting the impact that Covid has had on things. A couple of things that I have noticed is an uptick in people playing golf and visiting the Great Smoky Mountains National Park that is near where I live. I have a cabin that is built on a golf course and I have worked at home from here for what will soon be a year. I noticed that the course seemed to have a lot of play on M-F when you would typically not see as much play. I was talking to the guy that runs the Pro Shop here and he told me that Covid had been the biggest thing for golf since Tiger Woods.
Some of the homes close by are overnight vacation rentals and they have been much busier. If a house goes on the market it is sold very quickly in most cases. People are moving here from everywhere it seems. Restaurants have obviously taken a beating. I guess I have spent more for groceries and less on eating out, buy very little gas, etc. I have probably spent more time with guitar and hiking. I am glad that I bought my Agile back in October and able to get the exact model and a color that I liked for what I thought was a very reasonable price all things considered. Last time I looked, Rondo is out of the model in any color.
I suspect that there will be a bunch of guitars showing up on Ebay, Craigslist, Reverb, and elsewhere for people that bought them and just decided it was not for them. I think I read a stat someplace that said a very large percentage of people that buy guitars give it up in a year or less. For me it seemed like it took two years to sound just OK with simple pieces of music and guitar is not an instant gratification hobby for me at least. Be nice to see Rondo get back to where you could get multiple models in most any color/finish that you want.
For Redman, when I was looking to buy my Agile back in the Fall there was very little for sale with used Agile instruments and what was for sale had asking prices close to what Rondo was selling new at the time. For modifications, I was skeptical of buying anything advertised as having mods without being able to play the instrument because you do not really know what you are getting or whether the person doing the mods knew what they were doing. I have never seen or played the model you have but I would guess that it would not be hard to sell. Your guitar has a top that is unique for sure and it sounds like those neck through guitars are really nice. I might have bought one of those if I had the opportunity to play one of them.

I do think there will probably be a lot of guitars showing up used with little use for the reasons noted above. But I also think it will take quite some time for them to come down to reasonable prices. Current used prices are probably giving future sellers a false impression of what used guitars will bring on the market when there are more of them new and used again. I'm glad I am not GASsing for anything at this point.

I was at a Guitar Center last weekend and I have as many electric guitars at home as they had on the wall. I also have a broader selection.

Same here. Sam ash was much better so part of gc problem may also be the bankruptcy.mkgearhead wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 9:43 am I was at a Guitar Center last weekend and I have as many electric guitars at home as they had on the wall. I also have a broader selection.
I wonder how bare SA is now?
I was thinking along the same lines.
I sold 4 guitars and some of the pedals I have listed locally here between AGF, CL, Offerup and FB Marketplace. They didnt go fast, but they went.
They were priced reasonably so the deals were close to listed price.
I felt an urgency to get them listed thinking there will be a glut of used inventory as COVID winds down.
Some had mods and I sold them as is as 3 of the 4 were $150 or less, and good but budget pickups, not SD, etc.
@redman in your case if it was me I would probably put the stock pickups back in.

I haven't really seen anything close to a deal in the used lefty market for over a year. There's no way to tell what something actually sold for but the initial pricing is so high that even a lowball offer is rich compared to previously. The selection is pretty thin too, very few unique or unusual guitars for sale...

Well, I'm always interested in any unusual lefty Agile or SX models/finishes that I don't already have. As for other brands, off the top of my head a MIA Strat in Hot Rod Red/maple neck, Squier Classic Vibe Jazzmaster, CSB plaintop LP Traditional, Eastwood has a copy of the Gretsch G5222 Double Jet (Gretsch doesn't offer a lefty), maybe a Duesenberg semi-hollow, a few other odds and ends...

I was in Sam Ash yesterday killing some time in the acoustic room. It looks like they are going out of business. I wasn't in the market for anything but they did have a Martin Johnny Cash tribute that was fum to play for a few minutes. It was kind of stiff.

Rondo, that once had 12 pages of 25 different guitars on each page, now is down to 21 offerings. Not even one full page.
1/3 third of the 21 models offered are either small scale SX strats or SX lap-steel guitars. Not a single AL on the page now. Only 2 Les Paul styled guitars are one SX Callisto STD+ and one Junior.
I will say the vintage plaintop Callisto STD+ that I have is a beautiful plaintop, and resonates and plays very well.
There is a thinline strat that I really liked the alder version of. Not so sure about ash bodied one, though.
I put an allparts 7.25 neck on mine with Klein 59 pups and wider bridge (56mm) w/trem, and it is one of the best strats I've ever casted, or played.
I wonder if we'll ever see ten pages of Rondo offerings again. Probably. I look forward to the drooling again.

I just happened to see this pop up. It includes a hard case and looks like a pretty good deal to me for someone looking for something like this. I wonder if someone bought it and returned it. With that said there in not much on in the way of Rondo six strings.

If the case is included then yes, most likely a return. Does anyone recall the last time an AL-3100MCC has been in stock? it seems the last few batches of new inventory were all 3200 series...Stoli wrote: ↑Mon Mar 22, 2021 1:44 pm https://www.rondomusic.com/product10733.html

I bought a lemon burst 3100 MCC back in October and two units of that finish were in stock per the website at the time. I maybe look at the website from time to time but I think the 3100s went away some weeks ago. There were several of the 3200s around for a while. A lot of people seem to like the red guitars with the gold bling on them so that might be a good deal for someone.tobijohn wrote: ↑Mon Mar 22, 2021 1:57 pmIf the case is included then yes, most likely a return. Yeah, I remember those days... 10-12 pages of guitars, 4-6 pages of basses (and not a damn ukulele in sight!). I liked it better when the site had pages, and you could skip right over the pointy guitars. I'm tempted to say the "golden age" of Rondo is over, but it actually ended a few years ago, didn't it? When the pointy guitars started to outweigh the ALs and SXs.Partscaster wrote: ↑Fri Mar 19, 2021 9:40 pm Rondo, that once had 12 pages of 25 different guitars on each page, now is down to 21 offerings. I think the thing I miss most of all were the big B-stock drops at periodic intervals, that sparked a feeding frenzy on the forum. It was always fun to come on and see a thread with: "B-Stocks!!!" in the title, even if I couldn't, or didn't want to buy anything at that time.
