Iirc my al3001 was 9.5 lb the same as my gibson lp 2013 studio deluxe. About the same for my al2500 I was just playing.

There was a post in another thread about the Monoprice 15w amp on sale and I happened to notice while browsing that their 'Retro DLX' tele is on sale for 159. Rosewood board, and I know you said maple, but it's apparently a solid ash body so maybe that helps with the neck dive. I have no experience with this one, but I do have one of their California Classic Strats and it's perfectly fine. It's on its third set up of pickups, because I haven't found the right flavor, and I swapped the nut, but otherwise construction and playability were both good...
