It seemed to be working fine, but when I got less than halfway up the neck, cleaning file with a rag after every couple of frets, I noticed some dark patches in the file—on closer inspection, chunks of the grit had come off! Also it started taking off all the marker in one or two swipes, instead of leaving the thin center line as earlier.
lineLooking at some of the other reviews on Amazon, I see I'm not the only one by far to have this happen …
I was able to finish the job by working further along the shaft, but I doubt this tool will be any good after another project …
Very disappointed, would not recommend. $27 down the drain

Does anyone have any experience with the Fret Guru "Dagger 2.0"?
The two white patches above the grit are reflections from my track lights, but they neatly delineate the problem—left-hand end you can see the dark patches where the grit wore off, right-hand side in good shape.
A common complaint with this tool is that it files the top of the fret flat instead of crowning—the first few frets were okay, but then that's what it did
