Just now saw this post - for insertion into the "Small World" category, I knew the lead singer from the town I grew up in and one of my sisters dated him for a while (his older brother used to buy us beer when we were underage), the pedal steel player was from one town over and the son of one of my mother's best friends from our old parish...

Something finally made sense to me. I always assumed that the creator of the video attributed it to the wrong band. I remember when it came out it was the Jump 'N The Saddle Band. But, the lead singer, Peter Quinn, later fronted Skip Towne and The Greyhounds. So same lead vocals but the band was different.

They were the Rio Grande Band before that which was the first foray for Peter outside of Blues/rock based stuff. It was kind of a shock when it happened...

That’s some good stuff! I think he was already fucked up when he made that video, but I like the song and the video.

Some people like to pretend that they are nuts and don't give a shit. Joe Walsh is the real thing. Drugs may have been involved. Also, Hiram Bullock.

nice! that's a great lineup

i haven't seen Metz live, but I've heard they put on a helluva show
i often put KEXP performances on in the background, and these guys have done several
also played in a band with a guy who was really into them

My daughter goes to UC Irvine. She does a radio show for the college radio station called Dumpster Divin. Tuesdays 2-4 pm PST
https://kuci.org/wp/
She sent me the Metz link because she just did a phone interview with the drummer. I'd say she is very influenced by KEXP. People who feel rock is dead should watch some KEXP you tube videos. Great Station.

Billy Strings came up in my feed this morning...I liked this 20 min video so much, I watched it twice.

Saw him & his band in Carrboro, NC in late 2019...my second to last live show before Covid. I really miss live music Image
