. . . We could just get right to the point and rename this thread: "Proof That Ugly People Make Better Music."

Never thought of it like that but your point is well documented. Meanwhile the "Beautiful People" were cranking out Disco. Disco was necessary, if I still drank, I'd write a slurred thesis about it. Oh Skittles.toomanycats wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 9:04 am . . . We could just get right to the point and rename this thread: "Proof That Ugly People Make Better Music."
I don't know who that is in the first picture.toomanycats wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 9:04 am . . . We could just get right to the point and rename this thread: "Proof That Ugly People Make Better Music."

Edit, had to copy the file name and do a search. I should have known. It could have been Kansas or Chicago for all i know.

I think they were ushering in Meth and Bourbon before all the cool kids were doing it.toomanycats wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 7:07 pmThere's a hilarious comment on YouTube about that Ram Jam video that says, "The lead singer is what Mountain Dew would look like if it was person."

And can you believe I had to screen capture this from a video as the basic schenker shots i find are either lame or when hes an old man with turkey waddle arms.

There's actually quite a few interesting threads and theories about this video out there. Both about whether or not the people in the video were actually the ones who played the recorded version of the song ( other than the lead singer/guitarist ) and plenty of fun conspiracies. There's also several threads over on MLP and TGP about the Les Paul the guy is playing - it has a very odd combination of parts and is theorized to possibly be a re-necked guitar from different eras. If you look close it also has a set of gibson embossed pickups, which were only made for about 2 years in the early 70's.toomanycats wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 7:07 pm [There's a hilarious comment on YouTube about that Ram Jam video that says, "The lead singer is what Mountain Dew would look like if it was person."
Bottom line it's certainly a cult classic, I get a kick out of all the characters in the video in some way.

and that was my problem with me knowing who it is. I completely forgot who belongs to this board and everyone knows it. Most other people in the World have no idea what a Ram Jam is, at least my corner of the World.uwmcscott wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 12:18 pmThere's actually quite a few interesting threads and theories about this video out there. Actually, what is really needed is for those old enough to post pics of yourself in the 70s. I think that would be even more amusing...
Delightful mix of insolence, arrogance and narcissism

1979. I'm the guy. The last time that I saw the low side of 140 lbs. Might be the last photo ever taken of me without me wearing a black t-shirt or beard.
