Watching the news, it sounds like Pfister will ship from Kalamazoo very shortly.

I hear the refrigeration industry has geared up.

Anybody here in, or near that field of work (truck, air, etc) with direct or indirect knowledge of the logistics?

I don't know anything about the logistics, but my brother works for the Trane heating/refrigeration company and they have apparently come out with some innovations related to transport. He is not part of the team but it was apparently a big breakthrough and will likely make them a boatload of cash in the process.

By the way, it *appears* that the vaccinated will be protected, but may still infect others.

Should we get a user manual published soon, before folks develop unrealistic expectations?

That ship sailed a long time ago :-) And not just in relation to this particular issue.

There are a lot of conspiracy theories about the vaccine and pandemic. Some are supposedly from doctors. What are your thoughts?

I bought a kalamazoo amp from a pawn shop and after cleaning it up I thought I should get some type of virus vaccine. I felt like a dust archaeologist.

It’s funny they are making such a big deal about it suddenly shipping now. They were actually starting to ship before approval on some airline flights. It required a special order from the FAA because the shipping coolers exceeded the normally allowed amount of dry ice.

BTW, the I think it was The NY Times that had an online calculator to estimate where you are in line. With enough doses for 50 million people currently secured, I have 268 million people ahead of me in line. I should be able to get the vaccine in late 2021 to mid 2022. A timeframe that will likely make the vaccine useless.

I'm sure it will be useful for some immediately, but there's also concerns that it may not give you more than a few months of immunity anyway, or at lease this particular one. Overall, its certainly another tool to help though - especially for the most vulnerable. It also appears that even those who develop a natural immunity don't keep it forever - so it's not like just one round of doses will be needed.
