I hate to clutter up the new board with my personal problems, but here I am anyway lol.
I tested positive for covid yesterday, my symptoms have mostly been that of a head cold. I keep having what feels like little minor panic attacks where my chest gets a little tight and I have to take some deep breaths, that's been the worst part so far, I'm in quarantine til the 15th though, hopefully I'll test negative and also hopefully the place that offered me employment will still have me.
My girlfriend's sick with it too, I'm mostly worried about my Mom and Pappaw, as we all got infected by my drug addled uncle on Thanksgiving, of which I actually went and had a private one with just my Pappaw the day after, as it turns out that wasn't even enough caution. I would appreciate any and all vibes/prayers/positive thoughts that anyone could spare the time to send our way.
I guess 2020 wanted to give me a fitting 29th birthday present
I hope everyone here's doing well and staying healthy.
Spare vibes?

Sending positive vibes your way for health and recovery for you and your entire family. We stayed home over turkey day as my parents are in their 80's and we didn't want to take the chance. Do all the normal things you'd do when you get sick ( rest, fluids, etc ) and make sure to seek help for your older family members if things get worse for them.

Thanks guys!
I'm keeping a steady flow of water into myself, along with a daily zyrtec and some ibuprofen or sudafed when I need it, ibuprofen's been helping a ton for when I start actually feeling bad.
Talked to my new employer today and they said I can start training as soon as I get a negative test or am cleared by a doctor to go back to work, so that's a huge load off my mind.

Prayers and positive vibes coming for you and those you love. If you don't have one already I hope you can get an Albuterol Inhaler. It helped me a lot when my breathing was affected by whatever I had back in early March of this year. I could get what felt like plenty of air in and out of my lungs, but it felt like I wasn't getting enough oxygen out of it. Not like any flu I ever had, but there were no flu or covid tests available where I went for treatment back then. Was diagnosed with flu and sinus infection, but other than weird breathing anomolie and a cough, worst part was how very exhausted I felt. Bought a blood oxygen level monitor from Amazon and though I felt out of breath, monitor said I was getting plenty.

I've got one somewhere in my office in a box, I rarely use it so I stored it and it looks like I should've paid more attention to specifically where I put it lol.

Get well, Brother.
You might be interested in looking up the supplement "NAC" ands its effect on corona viruses.
Its no cure, but supposedly tilts toward a better outcome.
You can get it at amazon or elsewhere as it is a common supplement for several things. Its been commonly used for decades. Worth reading about and perhaps having some handy. Zinc, too.

My wife's a nurse on a COVID floor. See if you can get yourself a blood oximeter. If you can't afford one message me with your address and I'll send you one via Amazon. If your oxygen gets below 90 (some doctors are okay with as low as 87 or 88), it's recommended you get to an emergency room. Partcaster is right that they do give Zinc supplements being used. Never heard of the NAC.
Hang in there man. Wishing you and your family well! I actually took D3, C and a huge dose of Zinc daily until I was symptom free. Don’t know if it helped but it did t hurt. Thank God my symptoms were mild.

Seriously wishing the best for all of you.
I'm like you in that I don't normally like to offload my personal stuff onto others (they often have stuff of their own, possibly worse), but I've found both the sharing and feedback to be helpful. You all are in my thoughts.

My symptoms are pretty mild still, gonna order some zinc and extra vitamins, we try to keep em on hand always, but I don't think I have any d3 or zinc supplements, about to look into that NAC too. I just turned 29 yesterday, I'll see about getting ahold of a blood oximeter, I haven't really noticed much tightness or actual difficulty with breathing, that's only an issue when I start trying to pay attention to how I'm breathing and then I have to do it manually and I start wondering if I'm doing it right lmao.
I'm actually more stoked about the job now that they've treated my like a person before they've even opened.
Really appreciate everything guys, I've been lurking almost every night, just haven't had too much to say or contribute, though I might just start dropping pieces of outta context gibberish around just to spice things up

Hoping you and all your family get through this well.
God bless
God bless
My son managed to catch it (we think from school) and so far I have tested positive for it, and now we're pretty sure my wife and daughter now have it. We're waiting on test results again. I'm on day 9 of being sick and he's at day 14. I started with a headache and head cold type symptoms. Then fever and fatigue for a few days. Now I'm pretty much all better except I'm still fatigued and have some minor sinus symptoms. My son has had a pretty bad cough the entire time which is still lingering. I had the cough for about 2 days and then it hasn't been an issue for me.
I hope you can recover quickly and get well soon.

That's great news about the job , the oxyometer maybe a pharmacy item. As for breathing take it for someone who has to pay attention to breathing ; IN through the nose , out the the mouth with pursed lips like your trying to whistle. Not only does it help pump up the oxygen it helps settle nerves or anxiety.

I hope you guys all get better soon, it's just me and the girlfriend, I couldn't imagine having some little humans to take care of while dealing with this. Hoping I stay on the same track as what you experienced is super close to what we've been experiencing. We've been having turkey and cheese sandwiches every night for dinner, with the only exception being soup one night and steak on Monday for my birthday lol.
@fatjack thanks for the tip, I'll try to keep a focus on doing that, I think I had a sensei say something about that back when I took martial arts classes as a kid/teenager. Of course I couldn't be bothered to pay attention to the breathing exercises and meditation information
We've been having a little Christmas movie marathon, plenty of time to be able to watch all of them this year.

And guys, after all this is over, if you're ever in or around lexington, ky, don't be afraid to hit me up, I can guide you to some solid places to eat, maybe a couple of decent shows if anything's going on, or even tell you where some absolutely beautiful hiking can be done.

Me and the lady are well and tested negative, mom never tested positive luckily, and Pops is feeling well and his quarantine ends on Friday, not sure if he ever even got his test results back from the VA to begin with.
My buddy that caught it off me (we're on a "Larry from Three's Company type basis), was pretty rough for about a week, but he's feeling better and tested negative, just finished his quarantine period too, he still hasn't gotten he's sense of smell back, but he said he's starting to taste things.
I guess the biggest thing I'm still experiencing is a lack of tasting much in the area of bitter or bad flavors, everything's kinda sweet.
Thanks for checking in though! I meant to update the other night, but I've been pretty distracted with Cyberpunk 2077 lol.

Sorry I missed this thread when it was originally posted. I hope you're feeling better... Sometimes anxiety can contribute to the feeling that it's difficult to breathe (especially if your anxiety is about breathing). I have occasional bouts of anxiety and take an OTC homeopathic remedy called "Hyland's Calm" that works really well. You can get it at Walgreen's: https://www.hylands.com/products/harmony/calm
Finally escaping the People's Republic of Kalifornia!
