Yes, it’s cheesy as all hell, but damn! Just damn it sounds good, and the solo is sooo jaw dropping.

Vintage Marty, man that guy can play. Flowing from slow and soulful to lightning fast runs, but all melodic as hell. Its an interesting career path he took after leaving Megadeth...read a long interview with him a few years back, and while a lot of folks don't get what he did, especially since he would be in high demand, he sure seems happy over there in Japan, and boy do they love him there.

I had no idea what had happened to Marty. Not one of my favorite of his songs, but better than a LOT of what you hear.

The solo was just decent for me, not really jaw-dropping. The vibrato and tone was great though.

I mean this for sure, I would like to get Marty's reaction to some of Narsh's songs and solos. Not comparing the two, just would like to see/hear what Marty had to say if he heard it.

It's pretty "meh" to me, no real riffage, the solo just sounded like 2 practice exercises sandwiched in some "My First David Gilmour Lick" bread.

Yeah Marty *WAS* great, he's just really lackluster and generic sounding these days (last 10-15 years). I mean he comes across sonically about the same as that POS Rob(?) Chapman, and that's the exact opposite of my vibe. Definitely no Jason Becker.

I'm glad he didn't rejoin Megadeth, I mean I'm more of a Poland era fan anyway, but that's not to say I don't completely worship the RIP lineup era.

And Narsh, you far surpassed Marty ages ago dude, I wouldn't let him open a pack of strings for me if I was you.

Thank you for the cheese factor spoiler. If you had not mentioned it I would have been watching and thinking "wtf?"

Women often pray when I'm soloing (3:40). to stop.

Lots of action but give me a Black Keys lick any day.

So IMHO I agree, that Marty's stuff hasn't been all that amazing since maybe Scenes? Its cliche, a bit poppy and flowing with rivers of cheese. But, everytime the man bends a note, the hair on the back of my neck stands on end. I want to say a bit of that has rubbed of on me, but I can't. The guy is an absolute monster player and while I appreciate the kudos, I don't consider my playing to be anywhere near Marty or any of the greats.
I still can't play half his stuff and always found his phrasing to be on another level.

Hirajoshi anyone?
