The original and my favorite Bond too.

But Mr. Connery was far more than James Bond. The man had depth. He played so many other fantastic roles, amongst them . . .

The Man Who Would Be King, Time Bandits, Highlander, The Untouchables, The Hunt For Red October, A Bridge Too Far

I found his performance especially moving in Robin and Mariam with Audrey Hepburn.

Yep, I enjoyed his performance in all of those but my two favorites were "Zardoz" and
I disremember the title but it was the Indiana Jones film where he played Indiana Jones father.
I still laugh every time I think of him shooting the tail off the airplane he & Indiana are flying in!

"Son...I think they got us."

How many great movies can one man be in? The Bond movies (and I include "Never Say Never Again"), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, The Untouchables, The Rock, Robin and Marian., Highlander, and of course, The Hunt for Red October ("It remindes me of the heady days of Sputnik, when the world trembled at the sound of our rockets. Now, let them tremble and the sound of our silence"). He was so much more than Bond.

Rest in peace, Sir Sean.

The title of Greatest Living Scotsman is now up for grabs.

I read today that his boyhood name was Tommy, and at 15 he joined the navy. He was raised poor. His dad drove lorries and odd jobs, his mom maybe cleaned houses. Got more Birds than most Tom-cats.

RIP Sean. He was one of my favorite actors. I just watched Hunt for Red October for the umpteenth time yesterday, and I still enjoy it. 2020 has not been a good year.

And don't forget Zardoz and Outland (as much Connery would have liked us to.)

First we lost John Steed then Emma Peel, who was also Mrs James Bond and now we are Bondless.
I do feel the world is doomed now.
But he was of course so much more.
RIP Sir Sean.
