Just pulled trigger on this. As much as I generally dislike factory relic'd finishes, I have loved the way this model looks since they came out in about 2016 ??? Its like costume jewelry. A little gaudy...but also looks like old furniture and sounds good. Supposedly plays well. I'll adapt.

And now, its hard to find the smaller AMV version, with 14.5" across lower bout, versus the ASV10a that is 15-3/4" across. The full line was discontinued. Must not have sold well.

I may keep the ceramic pups in it. I'll see.
Sometimes I pull ceramic pups to find my alnico replacements aren't always a better sound for the guitar. This guitar has good lows, from what I've heard and read.
I've sold several guitars this year, but I havent bought a new guitar in a while. How exciting!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the ASV version. Excellent guitar, even the pups are good. The relic/aged finish works for me...looks like it's been on the bayou circuit for the past 30 years.

The Classic Elite pickups aren't as mediocre as the old ACH pickups. Like PAFs with a little more bite and clarity.

If I saw an old guitar that looked like these do, and played well/sounded good for reasonable money, I'ld buy it in a heartbeat, ...for the looks.
I'm willing to justify an excuse for having this with no fret wear, broken tuners, or scratchy pots.

I traded my DBZ Imperial that I got for $300 during the big blowout years ago, so pretty good deal for me. The DBZ was beautiful, but I just didn't bond with it. The Ibanez just feels more comfortable and is more versatile.

Quick note...the tops on all these models look exactly the same - CNC or laser etched. It looked odd if you ever saw a few hanging side-by-side.

I like a good relic and I loved the look of these from the beginning. Didnt realize there were 2 sizes. It seemed sometimes it was bigger. I like my casino coupe size. If this was full hollow or thereabouts it would be on the hunt list

I've never heard one or tried but I'm familiar with the series to which they belong. I seem to recall they're more compact semi-hollows. I heard they have a good reputation.

The body has worn marks, almost like worm-eaten wood. Metals are tarnished or burnished. Plastics, including the inlays, are aged and yellowed slightly. To me, it looks more "cohesive" than a lot of relic jobs and does not include offensive sanded areas.

This looks more like something that was in the closet for 30 years as opposed to beaten and abused.

I ordered a set of knobs through Amazon (Imperial) and a set through Alibaba (metric) but I have also found them on the Ibanez web site

Haven't seen switch tips but haven't looked, shouldn't be difficult. I'd go with Alibaba.

I've noticed some other Ibanez guitars have a photo top, I wonder if that is why they all look identical? I noticed it because I was looking at one of their ART LP models, and no matter what color or who was selling it, every single one of them had the same figuring in the exact same spot.

It does play very nicely, and the ceramic pups sound surprisingly bluesy/warm.
The neck feels like a small D shape..like a modern C but with slight D shoulders. Playing it feels strat-ish maybe due to light weight and narrower semi-hollow width. 24.75 scale 22 frets. Wrote a Neil Young-ish song about an old dog on it recently.

Oops,..gotta go. UPS truck just showed up with my SX Thinline Strat/Hawk.
