Do you have any thoughts on social distancing or masks? None of either in the vid.
Let's just put it this way . . . I feel safer being at a place where nobody has a mask but everybody is cool and respectful of each other as human beings, than I would at a place where everybody is wearing a mask, but they're also trying to shoot me, beat me, and set me on fire.

Don't really want this thread to go there though. I like you tremendously, as I like everyone else on the forum, and I'm sure we're capable of having a reasonable discussion along those lines. But we both know that in the wider context it's gonna lead to butt-hurt and thread lock.

And if you've ever wondered what a black girl with blue hair singing RATT's "Round and Round" would sound like, here ya go . . . :D

I'm glad it worked out for you! I also do not like the backline thing. They typically have some good clean amps, but I center my sound around a high gain tone but then able to back off to funky clean. Thankfully, none of the "backline" places have been too concerned with me plugging my Axe FX in when I show up with it. Just give me stereo XLRs, set then gain, and we'll be going much sooner than me dialing in an amp I've never touched before.
If I had something witty to say, I'd put it here.

Even with the potential back end issues, that was some mighty fine playing there sir. Nicely done!

I did a garage show last weekend. I put out the invite to all of nextdoor and craigslist to come listen as it was international play on your porch day. Fair number of responses. We had 4 people watch. So pretty much like a regular gig :) How was your turn out?

Between inside of the bar and the outside area I'd guess there was at least 100 people, maybe more at peak times.

Sort of a postscript to the thread. I made the trailer!

To clarify, as specified in the OP this gig was part of a weekend long blow out for a beloved local venue that was being forced to close its doors. I was fortunate enough to perform with two different acts, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. I noticed a professional video crew there on both days and saw them filming my band while I was performing on the outdoor main stage on Saturday. I was also interviewed for about five minutes on Sunday. A brief portion of my interview is at 2:05 in this promo clip for what I assume is going to be a full length documentary. Some real North Carolina local color here.

Is that footage from this past weekend? Seems like a wholly different world compared to what we are facing here in WI.

So the land lord wouldn’t renew their lease? I can’t imagine kicking out a tenant in this economy as long as there is some hope they will pay rent eventually. Sheesh!

This footage was from the weekend of August 29th and 30th. Right now we've hit an unseasonably warm stretch of weather here in North Carolina and it does deceptively seems like Summer again. But the leaves are starting to change now and Fall is definitely here. Starting to feel very Halloweeny.

I was actually more referring to the crowd...seems as though everyone is having a good time and as if COVID did not exist. We tried that here and a lot of places ended up having to shut down on their own volition because too many people got sick. Not suggesting anything political or otherwise, I would very much love to be right there with them enjoying some music and good times, it’s just far too dangerous here right now.

I hear ya. It's a different dynamic here right now than it was in late August. After school started up there has been talk of COVID "hot spots" here in NC. I gig most every Friday and Saturday night at venues in Catawba County and in the surrounding counties. All the places I play have a decent turnout. Most nobody wears a mask inside. We generally start and finish the gig slightly earlier than the pre COVID days due to State laws that the bars must follow.

I don't personally know anybody here in NC who has had the virus, though I have heard stories. For instance, the drummer in my band also plays in a jazz band, and they recently had a gig at a wine shop cancelled because the entire staff apparently caught COVID. So I hear stories like that.

Like you, I'm not getting political about this. Just reporting what's going on here "on the ground" from the perspective of a real gigging musician who you know is a real person.

I have gig in Drexel North Carolina tomorrow night. Not afraid.

I heard the WI Governor on NPR earlier this week. Ooph. You guys have it bad.

My wife asked who aaron rogers is dating now. I replied "Me, if he knocked on our door." (man crush).

Stay safe.

Here's the whole story:

So sad to just mangle peoples history like that. I know the money overrides everything but why would that land just be so much more valuable than any other? She seems like a nice lady creating a cool scene.
As an aside I think I may be in love with that news lady.

There has to be more to the story if someone bought a building at above market and wants it vacant fast.

As for the news lady, she is wearing her mask upside down. Sorry but that’s an automatic deal killer for me no matter how hot you are!

The full film about Bourbon Street Alley. My band is shown playing John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers' tune "Steppin' Out" at 23:39.

That’s actually a Memphis Slim piano/sax centric song (I love checking out the originals the the British blues guys covered) and Clapton was playing it before Mayall. There is a recording with Clapton, Steve Winwood, Jack Bruce and some other guys I forgot that was done before Beano, let alone before Cream.

The Memphis slim version has Matt Guitar Murphy (Blues Brothers Howlin Wolf and others)

Here is the early Clapton version:

That was a great video! Really well done. Any news yet on a new location or what they are doing with the old building?
