Well, I'll have to.

This is a B-Stock body that was already too cracked and router bitten to sell in good faith. I've been using those bodies as sacrificial, uh.... sacrifices to test out new techniques. This wasn't my first attempt at shou sugi ban, but it was the first time I tried it on alder. It looks pretty decent, but not quite as good as more open grained woods tend to.

The main concern is with the join. This is a two piece body, and I'm curious as to whether or not the glue will fail after being exposed to that level of heat. I'm the meantime, I need to work out how to rout for Strat and FR bridges, so I'll likely attempt to superstrat the silly thing.
