The HCT being the Hickory Community Theatre. I'm been gigging like crazy for the past week and it's going to continue right through this week and into the weekend. Tonights live stream is a benefit which I'm more than happy to lend my talents to, as the arts are important to me.
There are two other groups that precede The Fried Melon Blues Band (my band), and they are supposed to be really good. The show starts at 7:00 PM, we go on at 8:30 PM. A keyboard player is sitting in with us for a good part of our set. He's a nephrologist who can really tickle the ivories when he's not playing with kidneys.

looks like EST. TMC goes on in less than an hr
Well, I caught most of the set after the host said his thank you’s and goodnights. Pretty cool! Liked hearing the Doors in there!

Ha ha. I was standing watching that from behind the video control board and drinking Yuenglings while the band before us played. It was a pretty nutty behind the scenes. Did you see the guy in the owl suit?

I got busy (and I'm too stupid to have 2 thoughts at once) and I missed it. I'm so pissed at myself. I hope it's not to late to watch the recording

I figured that when I got home last night I'd watch the performance online, but it wasn't there. After some quick texts with my bandmates I was told that the video production crew will be putting it on YouTube the next day.
I've got some interesting questions about this, and here's why: I had just done a facebook live stream performance with The Ya Ya's band two nights previous to this one. Before that performance the Ya Ya's were given a heads up that facebook was aggressively pulling the plug on live streamed music if the performers did not own the copyrights to the songs. There is also a clause that it applies to songs written after . . . and don't quote me on this . . . maybe like 1929 or something? So the Ya Ya's tweaked the set list and did mostly cover songs that met that criteria, with a couple originals thrown in, and I think they snuck in a couple "newer" covers. However, near the beginning of the show they went out of their way to explicitly state on camera that they don't own the copyrights to many of the songs. Subsequently, that video of that live streamed performance is still on facebook.
Regarding the live stream I was involved in last night at the Hickory Community Theater, the entire set of my band consisted of covers. We did not explicitly state on camera that we do not own the rights to the songs. To the best of my knowledge neither did the other two acts that performed, though they also did what sounded like all covers. The show went on for several hours.
I'm just speculating here, and what I find out later today may or may not confirm this, but maybe facebook at some point blocked this performance from the platform. I don't personally have a facebook account, though I know that very recently some drastic policy changes have been announced which are a huge topic of discussion amongst musicians who routinely stream performances on that platform. Just do a search on the subject and you'll see what I mean.
All I know is that I wish I could be watching it right now while I'm sitting here drinking my coffee, but I can't, and it's a bummer.

Okay, I've found it now on YouTube. I'll add it to the OP at the top of the this page.

Great set! The levels were pretty good on this one and you were mostly at the front of the mix which was nice to hear! I really liked both the keyboardist and the woman singing on Little Wing. I would love to hear more collaborations with those two.
Were you using a pedal on the Gary Moore “still got the blues for you” Or was that just the gain out of the London amp? Your neck pickup tone on that was great, very Soldano like.

That young Ladies name is Shelby Ray. She's a phenomenal singer and is probably no more than 20 years old. The guy with the blue guitar who joined us on stage is her uncle Chet (yes, named after Chet Atkins . . . they come from a musical family). He's is a great guitar player and it was a shame his levels weren't higher. He sounded plenty loud on stage but the guys at the board messed it up on the live feed.Chocol8 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2020 11:06 am Great set! I was running my Bogner Ecstasy Blue pedal in front of the 65 London all night. On the pedal I had both gain stages engaged at about 1/2 way up each, Plexi setting, variac setting not engaged on the pedal, eq on the pedal about 12 o'clock across the board. The pedal was on for the entire set and I rode the guitars volume knob the whole time. The 65 Amps London is a phenomenal basic tone that puts you right square in early Marshall Bluesbreaker/JTM 45 territory. As you heard, pushing its front end with a good overdrive pedal can take it into the Plexi realm (and beyond).
