I half-remember all the various Brownsville guitars offered by Sam Ash in the 90's. I didn't have much sense or money back then to grab a few. I do have one that I won't sell (pickups are upgraded, though). They even had very budget-friendly amps of all sizes, which sounded really good for solid state.

Don't know Brownsville guitars, but that one is really cool! Love the color and the chrome PUs.

Congrats!

I don't know about LT's "thug", but mine shares the same shape and model with SX GG1. I am convinced they share the same DNA and origin :)

I used to see that LP-style model in my local Sam Ash back in the day , very cool (though I might have chosen to locate the pickup selector toggle elsewhere!). What are those pickups you put in -- GFS?

Yes, I know what you mean, but it hasn't bothered me. The pickups are GFS Dream 180 - IMHO they are excellent. I suspect that it's the adjustable poles on each coil that contribute to the twangy clarity and string definition that you just don't get with even the best examples of PAF-style pickups. And they split well, too. I have it wired to split them both with one push-pull and the other push-pull puts them in/out of phase with each other in middle position. Even that sound is useable and the noise is bearable (single coils in out-of-phase mode are hum-adding from what I recall).

Thanks! It's hollow, like a Danelectro -- a real lightweight.

Very nice. Good grab!

I got myself a Brownsville Bat guitar recently. They're worthwhile instruments if you can find one at a decent price.

I don't recall seeing those. Are they available at lower prices because everyone is now loathing bats? I wonder if pangolin guitars are even cheaper

Would not be surprised to see that or something like in the Batman TV series from the '60s!
