Did Guitar Center forget this is a Tribute or something?

This is not the greatest Gibson in the world, it is just a Tribute...

I am shocked how much these have jumped in price. Granted it is cherry not black, but I paid $375 for mine basically new old stock.

Tributes that could be had new for $800 and used for $600 10-14 years ago are now routinely listed over $1000 used. Sometimes it makes me think about selling mine, then I get over it. My faded SG with the crescent moon inlays and ebony board is worth twice what my wife paid for it. But she gave it to me as a birthday gift so I can never sell it. Wonderful Gibson goodness but I never play it.

Tribute LPs cost about that much new. Maybe they got them confused.

I have that same faded sg but just after yours where they stopped the crescent but still had the ebony. Killer find. It was up on cl for $100 because it was a repaired headstock and the setup was to screwd up it was unplayable with a backbow. The owner played me and got another shill I think to bid me up to 160 but it did turn out to be a great sg.

New, big name guitars are priced way above my pay grade these days. I know this won't be popular with some but with the price of excellent asian made guitars these days it just doesn't make sense because I feel like the premium price is as more about the name on the headstock than the guitar itself.
