This is a huge step for me; my first guitar purchase over $250.
this came about as I was comparing an AL-3200 vs. EPI 1959 LP standard.
If the Agile would have been around 8lb or so I probably would have went that way.
Thanks for all the responses in that thread.
It arrived in 5 days undamaged. The condition is exactly as described, the Reverb pics were very good.
It does have some scratches and dings. 2007.
Everything works as it should, the pots were a little stiff and scratchy but a shot of Faderlube worked great.
The nut is cut well, the truss rod adjust and the neck responds.
I wasnt liking the Burstbucker PRo bridge pickup at first but lowered it a little and adjusted the pole screws, along with backing off the pre-amp gain on the amp and I really like them.
The neck heel is shorter / closer to the body than was my AL-2000; I can reach the upper frets on this much better.
The fretwork is very good, not a lot of fretwear though there are some small string dents here and there.
I really like the 50's neck profile, have really bonded with this one, love it!
Enough of my yammering, pics:

Nice. Love mine. Non stock pickups? Stock would be 490r and 498t. Only thing i found wrong on my used studio: bridge was collapsed. I don't remember if it was a abr1 or nashville style but check the radius if you have a way to do it. They are known to collapse over time and your strings will be flatter towards the bridge. You only want the tailpiece as low enough so the strings don't hit the back of the bridge, don't screw it all the way down.

Glad you're liking it, John!
That's a nice color.
Now, enjoy playing it.

Not sure on the pickups; some of what I read said these came with the BB Pros.
The bridge is ok; I didnt check specifically for any collapse, but was eyeballing it setting the pole screws to pattern the radius.

Awesome! I have a Worn Brown 2010 with the BB Pros (my avatar) and that guitar is the easiest guitar to play I own, and sounds fantastic. Congrats on yours!

Learn something everyday. Strike that, now more confused.
"The glossy Studios should have 490R/498T, while the faded models have Burstbucker Pros."
"To confuse matters, Gibson also offered a GC exclusive called 'Studio Faded Maple Top' from 2007 - 2009 that had 490R/498T pickups"
Vintage Mahogany
Studio Worn Brown
Studio Faded

Interesting. In the first pic it looks full gloss but all the others it looks like the open grain faded series. You say faded so I guess just a trick of the light. I was just wonder how much more the gibson was to keep it within temptation range vs the 2 copies.

It is the faded.
The 2007 Gibson was listed at $775.
I think they could be had used in the $500s a few years back.
The Agile $550.
The Epi $800.
I would have bought the Agile if it was 8lbs or under, after learning it has the GVH-1 pick ups. I have them in an AXL LP build (from the Ubuy Guitars thing a few years back), and like them a lot.
No regerts (lol), I am really digging this guitar, and the BB Pro pickups.
The resistor based attenuator thingy I use often does color the sound a bit.
Taking it off and cranking the RR JCM800 Micro 1w build with this guitar sounds great.

My first Gibson Les Paul is my 2009 Faded and which is now a Gold Top. I paid 485.00 with HSC from Music123..
The faded has several name changes throughout the years. Mine was a Studio Worn Brown and I had Rhythm Pro in the neck and lead pro in the bridge.
This is an older picture of my Faded to Gold top.

I love the faded Gibsons!
They are just such a neat different kinda feel. I like the look of wood grain but with poly the feel is still very plastic. The only thing. Better than seeing the wood is also feeling it.

Whe the prices start to compress like that it's crazy not to look around more and recompare. Used entry level gibsons sometimes are the real bargains .
