So I have a new Strat (actually an SX Hawk) I'm thinking about refinishing, and I was thinking of putting a racing stripe on it. But how? Where, and what direction should it run?
The "Traditional"
The "Lowdown"
The "Centerline"
The "Northeast"

I like all except the centerline. It feels like you're faking a through neck

I like the 'lowdown,' but it is wasted due to the jack and pickguard covering it. Reverse lowdown (put it on top)?

That was my thought exactly as well. It looks cool on the uncovered body, but once you put the pickguard on, you're going to lose most of it. I don't think I found any pictures of the "high-up", though.andrewsrea wrote: ↑Thu Jul 15, 2021 10:53 am I like the 'lowdown,' but it is wasted due to the jack and pickguard covering it. I'ld do an offset cross of light blue, like the flag of Finland, but very light blue like your "traditional" option, and offset so that lines cross above bridge, and maybe whole thing is angled a bit so its not perfectly level. Maybe 15 degree slant or some such.
