An older horn/headstock model with upgraded pickups, yeah...$300-350 is the typical used market value.

Yep, pretty amazing! And here's another one, even better as it's actually bone stock for a cool $1,135 shipped. They're all comin' outta the woodwork tonight...

Whoa, that is a dead-on clone of mine with the exception of the zebra pickups. If it weren't for that, I'd think somebody had stolen my photos. I, however, am not asking $1200 for mine.

Didn't know that Slash Epiphone pickups were an up grade.

Well it doesn't say Epiphone anything anywhere in the description so not sure where you're getting that from, these are likely the Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro II set (Slash's signature pickup) so definitely an upgrade. Not one that makes the guitar worth 3-4X what it's actually worth, but an upgrade nonetheless :).

Really? Because it doesn't say anything anywhere in the description about Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro II pickups. It only says Slash's pickups. You don't know what the hell is in that guitar. It's just as likely they're Epiphone pickups as SD pickups and that sir is the only fact I can determine from that listing.

It simply says "Slash's pickups" and his pickups aka the ones he uses are the Duncan Alnico II Pros. Not lookin' to argue with you but you're assuming they're definitely cheapo Epiphone stock pickups without any real reason to believe that and a lot of common sense reasons to believe otherwise. The Duncan Slash set is an extremely popular upgrade for LP copies so it's way more likely to be that then someone taking the pickups out of a lower end Epi guitar to put into this guitar. The middle-end Epiphone Slash model does use the legit Duncan Alnico II Pros, by the way...it's only the beginner $200ish starter pack guitar that doesn't.

I guess if it's really super critical for you to know you can just message the guy and ask, but I'm about 90% sure they'll be the Duncans and not the pickups out of a $200 starter pack Epi :).

Update: confirmed as Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro IIs. Just sayin'

Out of curiosity, I went and checked this again. "This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available." Hmm...did they sell it elsewhere, or did the crack wear off?

No one paid that kind of money for that guitar lol, they probably just took it to their local store and traded it in or just decided to keep it if they can't "get their price" as these sellers like to say.

Don't fret though, an even more cracked-out challenger has stepped up to the plate: https://reverb.com/item/34785758-agile- ... y-sunburst

Let's keep this thread going!

From craigslist Ventura California . . .
SUPER RARE!!! 1999 Agile E1 Prototype/Trade Show Guitar - $700 (Price Drop!!!)

https://ventura.craigslist.org/msg/d/ox ... 35662.html

Three question:

1) Did Agile even exist in 1999? If I remember my Agile history correctly, the brand first appeared a couple years later. The seller even admits that Kurt doesn't remember (not surprising ;) ).

2) Is this price crazy for what this supposedly is?

3) Is the seller one of you guys?

I think the price is nuts. But I wouldn't pay more that a $ for a guitar with a Floyd on it.
I disremember Agile prior to the early 2000's, tho I suppose 1999 is possible?

For everyone one of these “OMG look how much someone is asking for this .....” threads, there is someone who probably doesn’t know better and overpays. So they do it because it works, plain and simple. Maybe not right away but a guitar is “worth” whatever 2 parties agree on.
