Since there's no official Douglas forum, I'll post these here. These are my precious Spads - Two with EMG's (85/89 and 85/89R) and one with Bill and Becky Lawrence Rails:

Did you by any chance buy that green one from me? I was trying to remember who I sold mine to just the other day.

I kick myself for letting mine go. Seriously, what the hell was I thinking? I wish Kurt would bring something similar back. They were so bad-ass.

Nope, got that one brand new before they were discontinued :)

I sold mine to someone on the forum. My old brain can't remember who, though.

I'm jealous of your Spad collection.

Oh yea.... my first one was the purple one when Kurt was blowing them out for $99. They made a brief reappearance a few years later when I picked up the Green one. The black one I got off the Guitar Center Used site. I still keep my eye out for any used ones, but so far no luck. I love the neck profile, very well balanced, set neck w/ jumbo frets, what's not to like. I replace the bridge and tuners and put in whatever pickups I feel like and they rock. :)

Those are beautiful. Kinda wish I had pounced on one, kinda glad I didn't. I know this is heresy, and I don't want to get rid of any, but I have way too many guitars.OCD type collector stuff runs in my family. Mom and dad did antiques, one sister does elephant stuff and Czechoslovakian stuff, the other sister collects dogs and other animals, and with me guitars and computer/electronics.

Great, now I have to get my Spad up and running again. I already have enough to do!

(Nice Spads though)

I like the idea of a rando rondo sub but not a sub forum for a brand that doesn't even exist now. Even if great. I'd lump them in with sx

Well, you guys have done it now. I yanked all of the electronics from my Spad and am gearing up to figure out how to wire the effer up with a set of cheap actives.

IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!!!

Great news! :) Here's something I used as a starting point - both of my active spads have additional complications... the purple one is a 5 way switch incorporating the coil tap function of the 89. The green one uses a 3 way switch and a push/pull volume pot to activate the coil tap on the 89R. This diagram below is just for Seymour Duncan Blackouts (what I used in an RR3) with a simple 3 way switch, one volume and one tone if it helps.

Thanks - I have bookmarked a few,butmissed that one.

I don't have a split on mine (what do you want when pots, wiring, pickups and a battery box cost $35 Cdn with free shipping?) So it'll be a three-way blade.

Also, my wiring skills are loosely described as "skills"". I am learning, mostly the hard way.
