As I have almost zero experience in the matter of owning "several" guitars (a term vague enough for some here, it could refer to a dozen guitars, or a dozen of dozen guitars...), I´d appreciate you sharing your knowledge on this one.

What to expect in terms of playability and feeling with this guitar? Is this a stratocastered Les Paul, or is it a les pauled Stratocaster?

Bro how are things going in VE??

I figure that'll still feel mostly like a Les Paul but the scale length will give it a little more articulation of pick attack like a Fender.

I've played the reverse of 24.75 scale Teles and it was still a Tele but slightly boomier articulation.

I haven't played that exact guitar, but I think you'd be surprised at how subtle the difference is.

I´ve read that bending is easier on the shorter scale (LP) than on the longer scale (ST). But I can´t testify that.

As for us here, will only say that at least shortage of food is over - it could be considered good -, but for the rest, all the same. And, no $ = no life (let´s leave this here)

Yeah, probably. Just like most folks say about switching from a LP to a ST while playing; they don´t feel that much of a difference.

I do! I feel a lot of difference in the scale length changes! I detest longer scale guitars! Which is probably why I've never been a Fender fanboy? Shorter (Les Paul) scale guitars I find much easier to play. Always have. YMMV.

Yes, it is a comfort thing. I FEEL the difference in my hands because of the bigger stretches thanks to the longer scale length & I suppose the extra string tension caused by the longer scale length. I'll go for a shorter scale guitar any day of the week over a longer scale one! You might not think the small amount of scale length makes much difference, but my hands do (and have always) felt the difference. But like I said: YMMV.

I prefer 25.5 overall, with 9 gauge strings

When I switch to a Les Paul, I do slightly overbend in the first minute, but then adjust quickly

I personally find the scale changes noticeable. Some people do not. I do find the 25.5 to be easier to play higher frets and more comfortable when I play for lengths of time.

I own a Dean Evo 1000 and a Charvel DS1 Pro Stock, both of which are basically Les Paul type guitars, though they have a 25.5" scale length.

As others have noted, the difference between 24.75" and 25.5" does make a difference, though I personally find that it does not alter things as significantly as . . .

*The difference between individual guitar of identical scale length (overall feel and string tension can vary greatly).
*The difference between string gauges.
*The difference between string brands.
*The difference between tuning at A440 vs tuning down 1/2 step (E flat).

In short, don't shy away from a 25.5" scale length Les Paul for fear that it's going to feel too weird, because in the scheme of things it ain't that big of a deal.

In my simple mind I know that the longer scale will equate to more string tension no way around it that I know of therefore the shorter scale typically
24 3/4" in most LP style guitars equates to a greater ability to manipulate the strings as well as more punch and resonance. That's why a short scale is easier to bend strings. I don't know how that long scale guitar plays but I did have an AL3200 24.75" scale, and it played wonderfully it was just so darn heavy weighing in at 10.3 pounds heavier even than my 83 Gibson LP


This was it I put a set of Pearly Gates in it.

If you have a 25.5 scale guitar... Tune from E down to Eb and it'll feel similarly to a Les Paul. The fret spacing is just a little smaller above the 12th fret.

Similarly if you've got a 24.75 scale guitar, tune from E up to E#. That's what an F scale guitar is gonna feel like. Just with a little more spacing above the 12th fret.

And actually as @toomanycats said it'll be LESS of a difference than that. But that'll give you a "worst case scenario" frame of reference!
