Hello all, I'm new to Agiles and this forum, looking for help from you experts! I recently bought this beauty on Reverb and I'm glad I did. It plays and sounds great, and it's in mint condition. It was advertised as a 3000 model. As you can see there's no model number on the trussrod cover. There's a decal on the back of the headstock with serial number 07737. I emailed Kurt at Rondo and he said it's an early 2000s based on the old headstock but couldn't give me any more info on that serial number, specifically what kind of pickups it has. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Welcome!
It looks like a 3000 to me because the 3000's had ebony fretboards, 2000's had rosewood.
the 3000's had abalone inlays on the neck, the 2000's had mother of toilet seat (plastic)
There is a chart somewhere on Rondo's website that lists all the differences between models
but I can't seem to find the link at the moment, perhaps someone will post it?
If they are the stock pickups, they should be AlNiCo5 & have 4 wires (so you can coil tap them if you wish.)

Looks like the inverted version of my old lefty AL3000Image

The pickups back then were unbranded, alnico V. (assuming still stock)

They used nicer wiring back then IMO, but they were a lot simpler.

I believe that this stubby horn old headstock example was made sometime between 2003 and 2005. It was pretty well established on the old forum that the horn was shortened in 2003 and the "Gumby" headstock appeared in 2005. Like @mickey said, it looks specifically like an AL-3000 Model.

Welcome, @fdecaprio ! Nice guitar!

There used to be a more comprehensive page of the different models and their specs, but I could only find this:

https://www.rondomusic.com/alspec.html

Yours is a 3000 model without a doubt. Below you´ll find the specs of an AL3000 model with the new headstock, but I believe they should be the same for yours:

Designed as a step-up model from the AL-2800 and AL-2500, the AL-3000 includes many important upgrades!

* Solid mahogany (not a multi-ply!) arch top body
* Triple bound body, and headstock. Single binding on neck.
* Improved Nickel plate hardware, including Nickel die-cast Grover tuners with 18-1 turning ratio for ultra fine tuning (Model 102-18N)
* Two Type V Alnico humbucker pickups for warm, tradional sound
* The AL-3000 now comes with improved wiring (single conductor braided 18 gauge American wire for pickups), improved pots (now higher voltage with brass shafts for reduced noise) and an improved pickup selector switch
* Two volume and two tone controls, plus a three way pickup selector switch
* One piece Mahogany set neck with 13.7" (350mm) radius neck for fast play and adjustable truss rod
* Ebony fretboard with 22 Jumbo Frets and real Abalone Trapezodial inlays
* The AL-3000 features D'addario strings installed at the factory and a professionally installed graph tech nut
* Individually hand filed frets for professional feel and playability
* Width of the neck at the nut: 1 5/8"; at the 21st fret: 2 1/16"
* Neck taper/thickness at the 1st fret: 21.5 mm; at the 12th fret: 23.5mm
* Overall length: 40"; Scale length: 24.7"
* Body thickness: 2" at edge; Width at the widest point: 13"
* Bridge pole spacing is 3", and the Tail piece pole spacing is 3 1/4"
* Actual Weight is only 10 lbs

Enjoy your guitar!

Thanks for all the replies. It weighs in at 9 1/2 pounds...heavy but doable. The pickups are great. Hard to believe its age given the condition.

Congrats, enjoy that beauty!!
If the Agile LPs were not so heavy I would still own some / own more.
I'm an 8lb and under kind of guy.
