I've been wanting a replacement Tele since I gave my SX to my granddaughter. This one is listed on Reverb I offered him $250 a week or 2 back and with the $75 shipping I thought that was fair but he declined which was his call no big deal. Anyway I know they were $325 new but that's about it so can any of you Agile guys enlighten me as to are they good, bad, age their value because the $299.99 +$75 shipping when Reverb adds tax it's going to be $400 or more is it worth it. https://reverb.com/item/39494080-agile- ... telecaster
Thanks guys
Randy

Not worth it, they are basically same quality as a Squire Standard (I'd take a 90s MIM over my Agile Tele)

Agile's Fender style stuff was never that great, and the prices got r ally inflated at the end of the run vs. where they started without getting any better in terms of quality.

I've got to agree with both @thepezident and @honyock. I've got a lefty TC-730 and a HB TE90-QM (which is a semi-hollow P90 Tele) and the build quality on it (and all the HBs that I've bought the last year or so) is absolutely amazing. For the total cost of the used Agile, you could buy two new Teles from Thomann for the same price with close or equal build quality. While there's no more flat rate shipping, it's still extremely reasonable and with UPS now handling that, you'll have them in 3-4 days. The only downside with Thomann is apparently their customer service can be lacking if something needs to be returned or is damaged in transit. I've probably got close to a couple dozen HBs and I've never had a problem with the latter and avoid the former by grabbing b-stocks which are physically inspected which means the ones with the most egregious defects are culled out before being listed...

This is a better beast than any of my CV's (fatter neck, Grovers,). Full size body thickness. I've been tempted to sell it but can never bring myself to. I have a similar neck on another SX so it might be redundant. I love the pickups so I left it stock.

Give some thought to a used Classic Vibe in the meantime, they're lacking nothing...

+1 - Every Classic Vibe tele I have played was great without mods.

After about 2 weeks of beating my head against the wall I finally pulled the trigger on a Tele. I think I have looked at almost everything available in a tele and thought I was ready to buy a Schecter PT but I didn't. What I finally purchased this morning was the Harley Benton TE-52 NA Vintage Series. I like modding guitars and at $145 and even with the shipping cost I can still sink a couple of hundred into parts if needed and turn out a fantastic Tele for way less than $500 which was my goal.

One of those is still on my short list, I'm just waiting for a lefty b-stock to pair with something else (their Jag copy is what I'm thinking). As I mentioned before, no more flat rate shipping but it's still pretty good. I just checked my most recent order from last August and shipping for two guitars was $66...

It was $63 for one guitar when I checked the other day (looking at a parlor sized acoustic)

It's the dimensional weight (length and width) calculation that kills you, adding another six inches to the thickness of the overall shape doesn't add a proportionate amount to the charge...

I just couldn't read that with a straight face.

Great choice! I think you'll come in better in budget than you think. I really like the one I have, and haven't found the need to mod anything on it. The pickups sound good to me, the bridge is good, hell, it has the dime-sized pots and the pcb switch, but they work fine with no issues. The neck has a satin feel to it, and although in most reviews I saw they said the neck was chunky, it's not 50's chunky at all. The vintage-style tuners work great, maybe a little stiff, but I have a set of Gotoh vintage-styles that are stiffer. The only complaint I have on mine is that it's 10.5 lbs.

You guys...

Anyway, before you all start worrying that you're possibly lacking in that department, while it seems that women are constantly carrying on about the importance of size and endurance, it's been my personal experience that after a couple of hours they all start complaining...

It has been essentially the same for every guitar I've tried for a couple weeks now, even the mini Ibanez knockoff is now almost $67(guessing the Euro has increased vs. the $ in the past few weeks...) Must be the extra miles from Germany to AZ that UPS is billing for.
