AD-3000

Time for an Agile thread - looks like all you AGF'ers are snoozing tonight.

All the chatter about the new AD3200's lately had me also thinking about Agile Doubecut's in general, and then I remembered that at one time there was indeed an AD-3000. Even without the M designation, they indeed has a full thickness maple cap with no veneer and abalone inlays like the 3000m of the same era. From what I see on the wayback-google-rondo machine, they all appear to have had a matching finish headstock too, which the 3000m's did not. I don't actually think I've ever seen one of these - any of the old timer's here every have one in their hands?

I came to the Rondo game a little late. I would have bought one. I am a sucker for double-cut guitars. And in case Kurt is listening, I am a sucker for green guitars.

I am going to guess these were early mid 2010's. The original M-series guitars had the white TRC and no binding. I bought my first agile, a 3000m of the next generation in 2011. I remember those funky set neck/neck through combo 3000's came out shortly after, and they too had the headstock finish matching the guitar body, probably somewhere around 2012-13?

But I would have to put these up there with some of the rarest Agiles out there that I'd like to own one day. That and PS-4000, of which I think i've seen a grand total of 2 over the years.

Thess are pics of my AD-3000M with a Quilted Maple Top in Tribal Blue which I bought in 2010 and still have.

SWEET slim neck with AMAZING upper neck access. DOES NOT HAVE MATCHING HEADSTOCK.

Pickups kick ass! My favorite guitar and it's in MINT condition. :)

IMO, the most underrated and UNDERPRICED guitar of this quality ever produced by Rondo. I paid $300, shipped w/case for it.

EDIT:

As Spock would say "If memory serves"...this was THE LAST one Kurt had in stock at the time and never sold them again.

Idiot. :)

I snagged a Red AD-2800 off Reverb about 5 years ago for $250 shipped, no case. Flame Maple Top and I believe it's loaded
with with either EMGs or EMG clones. Don't care for it all that much because of those pickups...too brittle for my taste.

Yup and thanks! This was back in the day when Rondo was turning out absolutely incredibly affordable guitars that rivaled even Gibson, Fender and PRS.

These days? 7-8-9 stringers? MEH. :)

Dennis on the old forum had one, and I think sold it to someone else on the forum.
Did he ever make it to the new boards?

I don't think Dennis has found his way over here. :(

I remember in 2012, when I first knew about Agile and AGF, there would be as many as 12 pages on Rondo full of 6 string guitars...starting with a few kitty guitars and then a sh-ton of SX Hawks and Furrians, Callisto's, then the AL2000's, and the 3000's. I think the 3000Ms were about the most expensive at 599$. Then they came way down to 399$.
12 glorious pages.
Agile-ST, Valkeries, Harms,.... wow. That was impressive to see, every evening that I wanted to drool over affordable guitars.

These AD's pretty much disappeared in 2010 right when I joined the Agile and AGF families. I wanted one, but decided to start with and AL. Big mistake, because when I was ready for the second purchase, they were history not to return in any facsimile until the AD-3200 showed up last year.

The blue ones were nice. Did they have a 3000 in the dark red? I know they had a few of the 2500 or 2800 models in that.

I was here just at the end of this era. At the time I was just getting into LPs and got my first with the al2500 albino. By the time I realized I liked them but them realized I didnt like the single cut and wanted an AD all the deals and big selection were gone :( I have an SG to give me most of the feel but I'd still like a DC LP. Maybe the firefly DC or the bolt neck slick possibly. Also keeping my eye out for a hammer DC std or jr.

Thanks for posting. If a better color, and if it hadn't been futzed with by owner it might have been on it's way to me even though I barely play anymore. So I am grateful it is CSB and been messed with.

That one has been on Reverb for months, asking way to much with the damage IMHO. That's a 2xxx series as well - rosewood board, etc. Looks nice with the old Headstock though.
