Finally decided to finish rewiring my Agile tele. Had a bad pot from using a junk soldering iron that I just lived with since I don't use the volume tremendously. i replaced both Alphas with Bourns C500k, with an orange drop cap and it already had a nice Japanese mechanical 3 way switch. Had previously replaced the stock pickups with the alnico 3 Giovanni humbucker in the neck, Fender replacement pickup for the bridge.

Finally the humbucker doesn't sound like a blanket over it, bridge needs the tone rolled back a bit when placed by itself, but better to need to take away than try to add brightness I think.

I also polished the frets and installed a Graphtech nut I stole from my Douglas thinline since the Chinese neck needs some fret dressing work after sitting in the garage last summer, even after humidifying for months.

I cannot believe how soft the Agile frets are compared to the last Chinese neck I bought and installed on my Cobain Jaguar body. I could barely get the China neck frets to clean up with a crowning file and a 220 grit fret eraser looked like I wasn't even affecting the frets. Meanwhile, the Agile's frets I barely had to touch them with a fret eraser to polish. The amount of wear on the Agile almost looks like it needs the frets leveled and recrowned completely at some point in the near future, the fret erasers did A good enough job of making it feel nice and smooth so no rush since it plays like to should again.

Can't believe I've had this guitar 10+ years already.

NEED MOAR PICS!

That's one way to beat the supply chain blues - dust off and fix up what we have. I wonder how many guitars could be assembled based on all the unfinished projects, parts bins and extra stuff just the AGF community has laying around? Maybe we could start our own store!

Was bored at work, pics coming this weekend. Still need to pull it apart to add some washers to space out the pots for the knobs properly.

In front of my new old Fender 1x12 cab I picked up for my SCX2, matches nicely except for the logo. Closed back just like the current Super Champ X2 extension cab. Probably better because the speaker is nice and broken it being almost 30 years old.

I didn't dress the wires in the tele, but it works so much better than before, I don't think it matters much. Once I get some small zip ties, I'll finish it up so it looks pretty.

Sorry the pics suck, tapatalk won't upload anything bigger than small anymore ImageImage
