I find that I really like the way the guitar feels, not in my hands but against me. That is why I'm sure that I need a full hollow body. Ibanez has an AMH90 coming, sometime. Maybe a set of Phat Cats for it, or maybe the AS73.
Yeah, I'm already thinking about putting 11s on the AS93, and I haven't even played it yet. :D

You know, they have the AMH90 in stock at AMS: https://www.americanmusical.com/ibanez- ... AMH90-LIST

Not that I'm trying to be an enabler, or anything.
I did not, but it says "more coming March 24 (or March 31 for black)" so that gives me a time frame as to when they may really be available. I don't expect them to fly off the shelves.
From your experience with AMS and my own in general, I don't like to pre-order things that will be here "in just a few more days." My fragile psyche doesn't deal well with planned avoidable failure.

Speaking of Ibanez, I found out they used to make a hollow-body with P-90s like very similar to the Casino. The Ibanez ASR70. There don't appear to be many around. None on Reverb or eBay currently. There was one on GC used a few days ago for $299 but it's gone now (I was very tempted but I held out). I'd love to try one out.

Oh damn... I thought they had them in stock because I didn't see "more coming soon" on the page, but you don't see that until you select a color.

I just don't like committing to a purchase a month in advance. Anything could happen in a month... I could find a better deal... or change my mind... or something could come up that's more important than a new guitar. I know I can always cancel if that happens, but I still feel like I'm locking myself in. Right now, I have a little discretionary cash because I sold one of my guitars and I've been putting in a lot of extra hours at work, but ordinarily, I would have to wait until I got my money back before I could make a purchase elsewhere. Since shopping for guitars is like playing a game of "whack-a-mole" lately, I could potentially miss out on some unexpected opportunity that comes and goes while my funds are in limbo.

Put simply; it's FOMO. :?

The only reason I consented to wait a month for AMS to come through was because I highly doubted I'd find a better deal anywhere else... Otherwise, I would have cut and run. Take my chances on the open water... The hunt is most of the fun. :D

That's an attractive Casino alternative... I think Paul Gilbert played that when he was in Mike Portnoy's Beatles tribute band: "Yellow Matter Custard". I'm assuming because of his endorsement deal with Ibanez. He put an 'I' sticker on the pickguard, mimicking the 'e' on the Casino PG.

Nope... It's a semi-hollow with humbuckers.

Fun fact, I had tickets to that YMC show. Unfortunately I found out after I bought them that my fam and I would be camping on the weekend of the show. I was still planning to drive all the way from the campsite in Lancaster county to Manhattan and not miss it, but once I was all the way out in the middle of nowhere I said screw it and sold the tickets to my brother and his friend at the last min.

I did go to the Hammer of the Gods show, though. That was AMAZING. Got tons of pics somewhere.

Ibanez wiki link says it's a hollow body. I assume that's what the "R" in the model # indicates?

Mike Portnoy made a cottage industry out of forming tribute bands after he left Dream Theater. I don't think I've seen HOTG, but I've seen YMC and his Rush tribute: Cygnus and the Sea Monsters (not in person, but concert videos). It's all good stuff.
