Anyone seen some of these new epis? Ebony board, shaved heel, alnico pups, asymmetric neck, figured top, weight relief and a decent looking back. For $700
Epi is upping their game. And with the price of agile the game is seriously narrowing. If this was the price/feature ratio back when I got my agiles I may have been an epi owner.

Definitely..been several threads here about the new semi-hollows. On paper they look great, have to wait and see how people like them when they start showing up in quantity - I think many of them have either yet to arrive this side of the pond or have been very limited availability.

I have been seeing a few b-stocks/blems already in some models on AMS/ZZounds so that's potentially not a good sign this early in production. But there are some pretty positive reviews out on Youtube and such as well.

Meh, I would still rather have the Agile with the real pearl inlays. Epiphone makes a solid guitar but given what Agile offers for several hundred less (and even cheaper used, I've paid $200ish for most of mine) there's just no draw for me to go to Epiphone except that the body shape is more "correct", which isn't worth $300-$500 to me. I've played dozens of Epis but none of them have matched the quality of the Agiles I've owned.

Looks awesome. And, I agree, with these specs, Rondo needs to watch out. The body shape here is correct, and it's almost a given that the pickups in the Epi are going to be better than the stock pickups in the Agile. You can also call Sweetwater and get your sales person to give you a break on the price.

Stomach ulcer from the Ocean Water soda at Sonic? Still better than the equivalent on the Agiles.

I will say I was half in jest earier at the lefty selection. No great models like the other hand but 4 decent colors to choose from at 600 but laurel fretboards . It's like Agile 2800 with pointy horns and gibby headstocs at twice what the equal went for. For 150 to 200 over a current 3100 it better sound and feel better than the 3100. and I have been spoiled by ebony, even the cheap gabon stuff. on a tangent I'd love to see a timber wood company plant some Perssimon to grow long enough to harvest for fingerboard violin bow usage.

Yeah, that finish is hideous... What's with all these fade-bursts that Epiphone has been coming out with lately?

I still say an Agile is a better buy.

I like the sculpted heel, but did they take off too much where the strength of the neck joint is sketchy?

The heel is an improvement I think yet if you are redesigning it why not just smooth taper it?
I wonder why they did it

The Inspired By Gibson series is pretty impressive as is the new SG. I bought one of each on a well discounted preorder late last summer and was impressed with the build quality of both (Gold Top LP and Arctic white batwing SG)...

Nah, as someone who has owned many Gibsons in the past before discovering Agile years ago I know the 40% thing to be a myth . Just saying Agile overall always impressed me way more than Epi ever did.
