The U.S. Air Farce broke me from wanting anything olive drab.

But "Suicide Is Painless" was played on a nylon string guitar. :D

I can remember back when I was in elementary school, probably around 1977 or so, our music teacher had the the chorus made up of us third graders learn "Suicide Is Painless" for an assembly. As you no doubt know, M*A*S*H was one of the most popular show on tv at the time. I used to watch it with my Father, who before I was born had been stationed with the Air Force in Korea. I didn't know what suicide was, and more than half the jokes on M*A*S*H went over my head. When all of the parents found out we were going to sing a song about suicide there was a huge controversy. I was too young to understand the social/political/cultural dimensions of the situation, but I do remember major drama occurring. I think the music teacher even quit or was canned over it.

In case anyone is wondering what on earth we are talking about, "Suicide is Painless" was the theme song to M*A*S*H.

Words? I never knew there were words?

They also have reintroduced the "proper" Riviera with Mini Hums and a Frequensator tailpiece...

AMS/ZZounds has some special run finishes too - the standard ( non figured ) 335 in that same olive drab for one caught my eye

I haven't bought a guitar in quite some time, but I still keep coming back to that Raspberry Tea burst 335 in the figured top. When sweetwater gets those in stock and you can pick your own finish/weight, I may have to do just that.

Honestly, it looks very un-Casino to me. I'd like a Casino, but I think there are really only 2 appropriate finishes for them - natural and burst.

I think the classic Cherry Red with White Pickguard is almost synonomous with the model as well as the John Lennon natural.

The neck thickness at the first fret is around .89 and 1-11/16" wide at the nut with what Epi calls a Classic C versus the horrible slim D taper. I really liked the one I had but it had that skinny ass typical Epi neck that all the Korean guitars sported. Here is a pic of my old one and someone that plays much smoother than me playing one from the same era. These pups look to be the same.

@BatUtilityBelt And only available as a righty. which is why I tend to look at Gretschs, Ibanezes and brands that don't hold their noses when left handedness is mentioned. Edit if Grote and Firefly can make money on sub $200 guitars then Epiphone should be able to make a lefty semi and fulll hollowbody. Ibanez makes a quality guitar in the 500 to 900 range.

I previously owned an original 1966 Casino, always said if they brought out a new one in the iced tea I would bite. The Finish on the Riv is uncannily close....damn wasn't planning on a new guitar but I did promise.
Cheers

As soon as that Royal Tan model shows up in Thailand my order is going in. I have already mounted the wall hanger in between the Surf green Strat and the Gold top LP. The wall just wouldn't look right without it now.
