Fender style tube preamp pedal
Posted: Thu Aug 06, 2020 11:18 am
This is a preamp pedal based on the Alembic F2B rack preamp, which is modeled after the front end of a Fender Showman AB763 circuit.
This pedal features a 6N21B sub-miniature tube in place of a 12ax7, which is how it is able to fit in such a smaller enclosure.
Tube is still running at 200 volts. It is powered by a 9 volt power supply and needs about 300 Ma to run.
This version has the mid control removed and has a fixed mid-range. To the left it is the standard AB763 tone stack found on the Normal Channel of a Deluxe Reverb. To the right, the mid range is shifted to be the same as the Custom channel on a 68 Custom Deluxe Reverb (described by Fender as their Bassman tonestack)
