Did anyone notice the AL3200 doublecuts??

One popped up on my Reverb feed last night

https://www.rondomusic.com/product10497.html

TobiJohn weren't there supposed to be models with block inlays as opposed to the trapezoids? Or is that wishful thinking on my part?

Yes I saw them and I like the Trap inlays. They should have used BLACK kit not white IMO. :)

Two of the three look to have a matte finish (serious MEH factor IMO). Looks like the Goldtop is glossy tho. And I bet those suckers are HEAVY being neck thru.

Block inlays had been suggested in the initial back and forth but Kurt chose to go with the the same specs as the AL-3200MCC other than the double cutaway...

I like those! That satin purple burl does seem different. What I find strange is why Rondo didn't make the goldtop satin-finished as well.

Too bad he did the wrong burst on the Silverburst. Teardrop style looks better imo

Normally I would agree with you, but I like the layout of the burst on this body shape.

Not a fan of silverburst, but I do prefer the burst pattern that is not shaped like a guitar pick.

No lefty AD-3200MCC silverbursts on the horizon but there should be a CSBF one and possibly a P90 Gold Top sometime around the end of the year...

I suppose I just associate this burst type with the Epiphone burst they use on their silverburst SG and Les Paul.

Lefty? Gold Top? P90?
Yes, please.
If only they'd make that in a single cut.

UPDATE:

I emailed Kurt for an update on the lefty AD/AL-3200MCC status and got this back from him earlier this AM:

Well the situation in Korea is pretty bad right now as far as production and shipping. I have no ETA on the production run so likely we will not see now until 2021 - or the end of Dec at the soonest.

those didn't last long, the silverburst doesn't show up in the search anymore, and the goldtop says sold out

I was referring to a couple lefty versions that I was able to cajole Kurt adding to the reorder production list. The only lefty that made it here was in the initial batch and was a tobacco burst...

Were there any new/better finishes for the correct handed versions on this now delayed order?

These are lefties that were originally supposed to be in with the second wave of AD-3200MCCs that arrived a few months back but never made the production schedule. I have no idea where Kurt is on a third reorder. I'm waiting to hear back from him on an unrelated matter but will ask him then about anything inbound....

Update on inbound Agiles:

Received from Kurt this AM:

"In general the port situation in S. Korea is totally out of control. We were supposed to have a shipment leave Pusan 3 weeks ago, and still has not. We had another shipment become ready and we moved to another port and it seems to be on the way. No ETA on the AD (left or right) (still in production) but it may be possible we will get before year end. But more likely January."

So he is expecting more...maybe, but no clue on finishes or when between now and January (potentially January 2035 for all we know). Seems par for the course. Thanks for asking!

The left-handed AD-3200MCCs that never made it were supposed to be CSBF and Gold Tops w/P90s. (four each) I asked if he could tell me about what the third lot of right-handed ones were supposed to be but a lot of times if you ask more than one question per email, you only get an answer to one of them and sequence of the questions doesn't seem to matter. I'll ask again in about a month or so as the impression I get is he submits what he wants but the factory chooses what they build based on how they're already set up. The info is more accurate closer to the estimated shipping date,. I don't know why as you'd think they'd know months in advance what they were building...

If you aren't already subscribed to Rondo's newsletter, FYI a bunch of righty AL3200MCCs and AD-3200MCCs made it in. That means no left-handed ones until probably late winter/early spring..

it wasn't in the email but there's an Advanced Order 2TS lefty in the left-handed section. So much for the CSBF and GT I was told were incoming....
