Agile Lemonburst?

HI. I am very interested in picking up a Lemonburst from the current crop of Agile AL-3200's. The thing is that I think that they look a little too orange with the burst in the published photos. We all know how bad Rondo's photo's are, so I am unsure how accurate these photo's are.
Is there anyone out there that has bought a Lemonburst from Rondo (prefer recently) that has photographed their guitar and could share it here? Any help would be appreciated.

It is a bit too orange for a lemon. But not too orange to be beautiful. Maybe its a citrus burst? Either way, go for it.

Here is a picture of my lemon burst 3100 MCC that I purchased from Rondo about a year ago. The color in person to my eye is not quite as bright as the pictures on the Rondo website but like most it looks different under different lights. Regardless, I think it looks cool in person. I think Rondo had a 3200 around the time that I ordered mine but I wanted something very close to Gibson Les Paul specs. I might have bought the 3200 if I could have found one to try out. Is sort of a shame that these do not have a slick lacquer finish to bring out the flame in the top a little more.
I am not overly particular about colors and like this one but would have been happy with anything that looks traditional like sun burst, cherry burst, honey burst, or even clear finish. Hope this helps.

I have a lefty AL3200 lemonburst I purchased last year. You're correct, it's not a pure lemon burst in color. The Rondo ad photo is actually pretty accurate, though. It's more of an amber burst but the 3200 is the best guitar I've ever purchased from Rondo. The upgraded Giovanni's sound pretty damn good and I haven't swapped the pickups out yet, although I do intend to do it someday. To me, this AL3200 was the ideal LP that I was looking for. I've been playing it more than any other guitar in my collection for a year.

I have no idea on the lemonburst aspect, but will add 2 cents on the 3200. My 3200 is one of the best guitars I've ever played at any price. I am glad there are not a ton of finish options on lefty 3200's now, otherwise I might end up buying more guitars I really don't need.

Are you referring to an AL-3200MCC or AD-3200MCC and if the former, which finish is yours?

Ah, I don't have an AL-3200MCC, just an AD-3200MCC gold top. I would go for an AL also, given the right finish. The current Rondo silverburst does not call me.

Me neither but other than a custom I bought used, it's the first double bound lefty AL I've ever seen...

I don't want to turn this thread into another lefty grousing rant, but I don't understand why Kurt can't make available some non-standard finishes for left-handed players. I could see why he wouldn't t if there was a sizable minimum order and so didn't want to get stuck with them in inventory indefinitely but the last few batches of lefty AL/AD-3200MCCs were two lots so obviously there is a low minimum order. All I can think of is the very first batch of new style AL-3200s took almost a year to unload and he had to cut the price from $500 to $400 to finally do it but everything lefty in the high end models subsequent to that has pretty much sold out completely in less than a month. I'm going to have to ask him about that next week when I start nagging him again about the flat top version of the AD-3200...

I'm not a lefty but I truly understand and am empathtic. I further don't understand in that he has some stuff that he can't unload anyway and if Agile was known to have a respectable selection of lefty inventory, I would think it would add value to the brand.
He's just waiting for you to take over TJ, he heard the rumor.

I've got a few pots on the stove that I'm fairly optimistic about and if things play out successfully over the next year, I'm definitely going to approach him about some kind of joint venture to not only expand lefty offerings but bring back some of the classic Agile stuff as well as new models that are in keeping with the spirit of the old ones...

Totally agree. I couldn't fall for an oceanburst, and he had those up exclusively for seemingly years. I would easily go for a tobacco/bourbon burst, a well done lemon, rootbeer, maybe even burl, but even a plain top with attractive grain can be stunning.

I think I understand that wrinkle. When I first heard about Rondo, there was truly a huge array of lefties to choose from. And very few of us actually buys all the guitars we want as soon as we see them. If that actually happened, I probably would have ordered more than a dozen from him in a single pass. No, I got one, was impressed, and got another... As I was dipping my toe in, I saw him routinely drop prices on certain models out of the blue, and it looked like just part of his business model. So I started waiting for guitars I wanted to drop to ridiculous low prices, then bought. For a while, that was quite reliable and seemed like it was how he wanted to sell. They were already cheap at full price, but if I could wait for the dip, that was better, of course.
So bottom line, I think he wanted to make big orders, but not hold inventory very long, and that's just really hard to do with his very limited marketing.
