Just listen to the sustain!

Found at a music store, traded some straps for resale. Told me he didn't care for DCs, now everybody's happy.
Nice! I have 2 of those Hamers and they’re great guitars.

We recently got a mid 90s miniature fender telecaster, made in Japan and sold only on the Japanese market. The Scale length is just 18 3/4” !! It needed a little tune up and the neck pickup was mostly dead but I’m working on fixing that too.

The other purchase is one my son negotiated today while I was playing a guitar. He talked the sales person down on this Yamaha dtx kit. 35% off everything (pretty much got it at dealer cost) lol Image. And a simmons speaker to go with it. Payed with his savings (approved Image).

I need to let him buy me another guitar amp Next time Image

I have owned many, many pedals. This one is pure inspiration. Consider it the key that unlocks your guitar and amp's fortress of tones.

For my birthday my girlfriend gifted me the opportunity to select a high end guitar of my choice. Behold… a Gibson Custom 1959 Reissue ES-355, Ebony, with Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aging (that model name is a mouthful). It blends a couple of my ideal concepts: I spent 20 years with an Epi Dot as my only electric, so that shape/size suits me perfectly; and I have wanted something from the Gibson CS, especially with the “Custom” look (bound headstock, tuxedo black/gold).

It’s “on tour” making its way from Sweetwater to my house. I’ll definitely post about it once it’s arrived and I’ve had a chance to fully appreciate it.

Well-Hung 1969 series Get Back - custom!
I contacted Brad to be sure the listed strap was long enough, and it was not.
He made me one, a bit nicer than the one listed!

Getting this, putting it on the guitar and strapping it on gave me the first feelings of joy I have experienced lately with some things going on in my life.
Even more so than a new guitar I got this past week, no kidding.
Thanks Brad!!

Vox AD30VT-XL. Grabbed at a garage sale for $20. Had no handle, but still has the screws. $10 replacement handle from Amplified Parts. Swapped in an Eminence Wizard I had laying around for years since I took the back off. It's a wall shaker for sure. However..... Volume, Gain, ,Master Volume and Power Level Knob on back make it easy to tame.

Grabbed this and a Charvel Chainsaw case for a reasonable price.
Supposedly made by a company called Rivers Relics but I can find zero proof of this. I bought it used so... I wouldn't be surprised if this is not something they'd advertise as it's begging to get sued.

I'm the last person to ask about how close it is in specs to what obviously inspired it. One thing is obvious to me, and that's that the neck angle is too shallow to be completely vintage spec. I could swear that Dantzig (Hamer co-founder) said that a reduced neck angle was one of the three best ways one could reduce head stock breaks.

Just scooped this SX Furrian Nashville Tele for just over a Benjamin...neck pickup is likely not stock (hoping none of em are, honestly). Double bound body too, sweet!

Came across a smokin deal on a Jet City JCA20H - an amp I've always wanted to try - on Reverb and couldn't resist. I know I'm 12 yrs late to the party but I'm stoked! From the listing it looks to be unmolested and near mint but we'll see when it arrives tomorrow. Woot!

There may be another acquisition after work today, as well. We shall see...

I feel like years to late is sometimes the best time to get a great deal.

I expect you'll like it! I had the JCA22H some years ago, and sometimes I kind of regret letting it go - it was a great "Soldano on a budget" tone.

I had a little extra money, and these don't come up for sale too often, so I had to jump on it!

It arrived today. I haven't got to spend a lot of time with it yet but so far I dig it! I read that these things are supposed to be like JCM800s. I've never owned one of those so I can't compare but this does get into that territory. I wish it had an effects loop but other than it's pretty rad so far. I gotta crack it open and see what toobs are in there.

That thing is sweet! I want a DC Jr in the worst way. That's not a bad relic job, TBH. What's the mini toggle switch for?

Does that count?
I think frets are gear.
Works for me. Even if they're not gear, they're pretty important.

When they relic these guitars, do they bend a tuner or 2? Strip out a few pickguard screws? Divots on the first few frets?

I haven't seen that thankfully, but I wasn't a fan of causing themes to rust (screws, bridges) which they do.

Was only really joking on those aspects of a relicing. I bought some metal blackener, sort of the same stuff my wife uses for her stained glass to darken the solder.
This is some sort of acid or whatever, really strong, screws turn black and it continues to rust so you need to put on some clear/oil or something.
