Thanks Zac!!!

My wife Lyuba hand makes all our custom orders. I'm just the "Internet Schlep". We make them for the entire Katana line as well as customer orders, they're available in 12 colors AND they are waterproof. The "Convertible" model for the Kat Head has an Open Front Port for the 5" Speaker and a Flap allowing you to leave the cover on WHILE IN USE.:)
Be sure to pass along my thanks to Lyuba as well!

He custom made it based on a few simple measurements and had it assembled and shipped very quickly (ordered 5/29). Very nicely made, and fits the Hilbish just right. It even has a pleasant fresh new car kind of smell out of the bag. Patrick is a man of many talents! If you're in need of an amp cover, this is a no-brainer. All you Katana head owners should check out his Amp Shield specifically made for that model - super cool1
Thanks Zac!!!

Shameless plug. Please feel free to do that more often.:) and waterproof you say? So you are saying if a toilet line were to bust upstairs and water were to rain down randomly in your music room then one of these might come in handy? Hmmm

Just scored yet another set of Bareknuckle pickups (Cobra model)...don't even have a guitar for these to go in at the moment but since I'm a Bareknuckle loyalist to the fullest I make sure to grab any well priced sets I can find as they are quite pricey new.

This particular set is about $280 new, managed to grab this one for $130 shipped. The plan, unless some GAS for something else hits me first, is to save these for the Kiesel Osiris I'm planning on ordering later this year :).

Are the new ones ash? It looks like yours could be. I have the Single Coil model . It plays nice but I didnt like the X1 ? pickups much. I need to try them again.
The new ones have an alder body and the pickups are Alnico II humbuckers. Not sure what the single coils are, but they call them "Player Series Alnico V Strat Single-coil."
Yours is probably ash because it was made in America before they had offshore production! I remember those from the time feeling just like regular Fenders. Somebody I knew had the Lead II at the time, and I liked it. I'm liking humbuckers in a Strat-ish package!

The word I heard was the necks were identical to the use strats at the time but they have the old smaller headstock. Turns out I probably had a lead II on my usa strat for 20 years I never knew it.

Only after a satisfied member posted an unsolicited glowing impression. :)

Yes it would as long as none of the water gets by the opening for the handle.

Swapped my '04 52ri for a '19 AO 50s Telecaster. That vintage radius didn't agree with me the last couple of years. This AO model with the 9.5" radius and bigger frets is fantastic.

I've got a set of those Hipshots (well, the 6-in-line version anyway) for my long-languishing superstrat build.* They seem pretty nice but what really impresses me is the installation method, with that backplate. As soon as I saw it, I said, "Why aren't all tuners like that?" I guess it does require all of the tuners to be in a strict line, which not all headstocks are designed for, but it's pretty clever.

* A really really clever paintjob idea I had requires me to have access to a Cricut machine. Fortunately, I have a friend virtually around the corner who has one. Unfortunately, it's at her place of work, which she's been locked out of for months due to Covid.

that's definitely the big selling point for them for me; the less screws, the better! not to mention they are fine tuners. hipshot has yet to disappoint me

I picked up this American Strat off reverb a few weeks ago. The seller claimed the guitar was “like new” and never played. Not quite but it was in pretty good shape after getting some work done on it.

The 3rd fret had some damage, deep gouges/lines. There was a fair amount of fret wear on the others as well.

The seller agreed to pay for a fret level/crown and setup. In the end I got a nice guitar for a good price

I, too, bought a Strat off of Reverb a few months ago that was listed as like new and showed up with grooves in the frets. That's a deal breaker for me so back it went. It drives me crazy when sellers do this.

Anyway, HNGD!

A dozen yellow tortex picks couple snark tuners as mine disappeared due to family cleaning. And thanks to mickey telling me they exist half dozen left handed thumb picks. And I can pretty much guarantee a righty won't take any home .

Got a valetron rushead max new for $10.27 delivered. Not bad to plug the earphones into.

Just ordered a katana mk2 head open box. Won't ship for over a week, but excited to get it. Now I'll be able to hear what my guitars sound like better!

It was a tascam us122. I think they stopped updating the drivers for it in like 2012

So, the used Squier Jaguar bass I ordered sight unseen from GC arrived today. If you want to read the details, see this post: https://tinyurl.com/y7ltwgwn

Note: GC had this listed as a Vintage Modified bass, at a price of $159.

I'll leave my observations below after the following:

Pros:
 • Turns out it's a actually a 2020 Classic Vibe Jag bass
 • It's worth at least $100 more than I paid
 • It's basically mint (still has plastic pickguard protector in place
 • It's really nice!
Cons:
 • The box arrived in really bad shape so I was expecting the worst when I opened it; it was flattened and looked like it had been run over by a truck
 • The neanderthals at the store packed it like they have no clue how to ship guitars - just some bubble wrap around it and a small amount of padding thrown in
 • The first-string tuner knob is busted; you can see in the pic below it's hanging on by a thread (see poor packing job/abused box)
 • The fretboard is parched but that's obv typical and super easy to take care of
So far I'm very happy with the bass, obviously outside of the broken tuner knob. I'm amazed there was no other damage. I'm getting ready to call the store I bought it from and ask them to either refund a portion of the purchase amount or send me a replacement tuner.

Okay, pics!
