'New acoustic arrived today. It's a Epiphone Hummingbird. Nothing fancy.
The box arrives.
I take it in.
I grab the box cutter.
I lean it towards me and see this:
I can wait for tomorrow, but will tonight after some time on the town work (10 hrs)? Things should have warmed up by then, don't you think?
NGD but 24 hr waiting period?! **Update** opened in 21 hours

It depends on the temperatures it was subjected to during shipping, and for how long. I generally go by touch. If the box is really room temperature, I'll cut it open and feel the packing materials or case. If those are also room temperature, it's time to tune and play.

Sure did. It got here at noon on Friday. I unpackaged it at 9:00 this morning. The battery was stoooopid hard to install. 'Had to loosen strings and reach way inside to accomplish the task. Ridiculous. It plays well and will suit our needs just fine.
