I could have titled it "Show us your rack" but I didnt.
thought this was pretty slick. $1000. I like the idea of rollers that way I can keep the rack 2 deep but still get to the back ones
How do you store all these damn guitars?

I wish mine was that neat but then I'm not going to spend 1k either.
This was an idea that got some off the floor. Probably saved some in the last flood. Theres a low beam there anyway. If someone were to look in the room from the doorway they wouldn't even know they were there.

Hi Friend and how are you? I think is a very healthy topic especially for some people that are trying to organize their music/store room. I will eventually do the same thing.
the best ones I seen on your idea is the rack style on wheels. It doesn't have to be that one. I suggest you make your own 2 level design that will work on your room size with up and down. It doesn't really have to have wheels. Have it made or DIY modular and solid when connected together. Kind of similar to this picture but make it more simplified. This will actually save you a lot of space and more organized and less money. Might wanna check the link below just to get an idea. make it fit your square case, the Gibson peanut cases and loose guitars. I know its a lot of work but one way or another youll end up facing this. I'm right there with you.

I don't have many, but built my own stand, for less than $40

Dont know how I missed this. That is a slick design. I could totally use that in a small studio wit honly a reasonable number of guitars aroundUrenragK wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 5:52 am I don't have many, but built my own stand, for less than $40

Noice! This is exactly what I've been on the hunt for. Maybe a long shot but I want one with enough inner height to fit cases.nomadh wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 3:06 am Got a nice older tv hutch off cl for free. NO PICS from me on this topic. My back bedroom as AWASH in guitars and amps. Most guitars in Hard Cases, Stacked 2 high, a few in gig bags. If a burglar tries to steal them in the dark he will surely trip and break his neck!
Eventual plan is have large bed removed from that room as it is almost never used as a bedroom. Have old moth eaten wool rug removed and whole room turned into an organized storage space rather than a trip and fall booby trap room.

That's pretty much I wanna do. is to build a 2-deck rack that I can put guitars in a square case, Gibson peanut case, gigbag and loose guitars. which as of right now I got everything on hardcase. But you never know. times change and gear will change. I haven't really bought that much guitar since early 2019. or atleast not like the way I use to...fullonshred wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 2:45 pm NO PICS from me on this topic. If you do plans hope you will post them here. I really need to have the ceiling fixed where it was rough patched when a workman in the attic put his foot through it by accident. Walls could use some work too and whole room needs fresh paint. Hope maybe my little sister and a guy who works for her will tackle most of it.Pilipete_Townshend wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 4:02 pmThat's pretty much I wanna do. is to build a 2-deck rack that I can put guitars in a square case, Gibson peanut case, gigbag and loose guitars. which as of right now I got everything on hardcase. That may be tougher. I dont think I can fit bases either. IIRC not my firebird either. I need t otake a better pic. Just so burned out cleaning up the flood. It may look like crap but its smelling nice and fresh now.RiverDog wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 1:43 pmNoice! This is exactly what I've been on the hunt for. some 1/2" dowel
Two 3'x1.5' scraps of 3/4" plywood
Twelve 2-1/2" deck screws
an old rug, optional
I think it was less than 25$, holds 25-28 guitars.

Will do. Were pretty much on the same boat. its a good thing that I was able to put my airplanes in the garage ceiling so that's less crowd. but the rest is history. I gotta move fast for I need to come up with the design that I can fit these or most of it. besides the 4 guitars I play, the rest goes to the cases. I got so delay by the rainy season. besides the guitars, I need to work on the car too.fullonshred wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 4:09 pmIf you do plans hope you will post them here. Right now, some are in cases, some against cases, some are balanced precariously... It's chaos and I am ashamed.
I'd love to get some of the hand shaped hangers from GuitarGrip.com though.
The Mummy and Reaper/Skeleton ones specifically.
Edit: wasn't there a dude on the old old forum that had walls of Jackson's and other gorgeous fiddles? I think he had one or a few of the Y2KV's
But anyway, I'd love to have his setup, it was like a nicely organized guitar store.

Good deal on flying. I have a friend that lives in surrey and had a chance to travel in thousand oaks California. we ended flying there for 6 days straight. It was really fun. the field was 10 minutes away from my house and were already there like 5:30 in the morning, leave at 11 going to lunch, comeback at 3:45pm up to 8:30pm. He met so much people in there and he had a great time. One of the guys in there drop a plane from 2500 feet down to the ravine. we got the plane back and it was into pieces. Next day he had ait all back and it was flying again.
Flying is one of the greatest joy in my life. You'll meet a lot of cool people. everyone is casual and just having fun.

Another nice reason for wheels. Nice if you get 4" of water in your music room. I know.
