Gorgeous New SX Bass Model

Wow, this is a beautiful looking instrument. I wonder if this is a prototype for an upcoming model run. It’s listed as a new 2023 model, but like the similar new Furrian the listing indicates that you get the exact pictured guitar (which would suggest a one off sample).

I dropped a hint to my gf that this would be a good birthday present and a while later it was listed as no longer available. Fingers crossed it’s on its way to my door…!

Yeah, looks like basically an upgraded Andromeda (which I have) in a different color. Upgrades look like tuners, truss rod wheel (I do wish my Andromeda had that) and roasted maple neck. Oh yeah and without the high mass bridge.

Love it! I think Rondo has been putting out variations on this model for a while. I have the Ursa 2 Pro version listed below, and bought it in 2011.

Beautiful bass. Yeah, there are definitely similarities here. I love the tuners, and it has the high mass bridge. Neck is not one piece nor the body, but it does look like SX/Rondo has been searching for that sweet spot of features vs price.
