PSA: Lefty Squier Classic Vibe Telecaster $305 on Amazon Warehouse

If I didn't already have two of them, I'd buy it myself. If you're looking for a project, don't bother as there's nothing to upgrade on these. It's also Amazon so you've got nothing to lose:

My CV70s was a Warehouse deal and it was almost perfect if not for a pea sized ding on the back.

The free returns has saved my bacon. Bought a $400 clutch for my truck. But needed a 12" not an 11" like I was told. Just dropped off the clutch at the UPS store and had money back in my account basically the next day.

Gonna do it, hope it weighs less than my old one which was almost as heavy as my 11.5lb Heritage super thick LP Custom style H-157...

Probably last guitar I'll buy any time soon since I just ordered a 2022 Ford Bronco and I need to be putting money away to cover taxes and fees when it arrives...

FWIW, one of mine is just under 8lbs and the other is just under 7.5lbs...

Woo-Hoo! You've got an awesome guitar coming! I'll never part with mine.

Not to contradict @tobijohn, but that guitar does require one mod (IMO), and that's to swap out the 3-way switch for a 4-way, and wire pickups in series in the 4th position. But I do that to all my Teles with the traditional single-coils.

Mine weighs 8 lbs, BTW.

Good score @honyock , you'll be happy. It's a great guitar right out of the box, but I also agree with @Mossman that the 4-way series mod is a great upgrade on the CV.

Was happy with my 1st one but for the weight. It felt like the pine had been injected with lead in some sort of weird reverse cambering process.

Oh, you've already owned a '50s CV. I thought you were talking about the '70s CV that you mentioned.

Yeah, I've heard some people complain about the '50s CV being too heavy, but I don't recall a lot of specific weights being mentioned, so I didn't know they got that heavy. I just thought 8-ish pounds was too heavy for some people.

I've had a CV50s/60s strat too (lefty 60s body with righty 50s neck)

I believe what you actually mean is back when young people actually got out and did things.
Then the smart phone was invented
and ever since they just sit around on the sofa or a recliner, eat junk food & play with their phone
never getting out of the house to actually do anything except for going out for more junk food
unless they have it delivered?

Yes, that's exactly what I meant. But being exclusively a sit down player, a guitar's weight is of less interest to me than it would have been had I been old enough to play a guitar in the '50s. My biggest problem is keeping any junk food crumbs from falling into the sound hole of my acoustic.

Sounds like you need one of those "feedback preventers" that some pros use during live shows using an acoustic/electric (Tommy Emmanuel comes to mind.)
I think junk food crumbs falling in the soundhole could perhaps be termed "feedback?" :)

"Feedback preventer"? I'm still looking for a talent booster pedal that works.

Of course... when Squier first introduced the CV '50s Tele. :P

It is just like the AL3000 I had that weighed a ton, and the lightest AL3000 I've ever held were in my collection at the same time. I sold the heavy one first.

My primary reason for selling the 1st CV wasn't the weight, but that I had another S/S tele I liked better (SX natural ash that is lighter and more comfortable to play) and wanted to use the cash on some upgrades for it.

I don't currently own standard layout Tele. I'll be perfectly happy with whatever the weight is on this one (back issues have gone away thanks to new job) and I have a 4 way switch waiting to be used since I changed my other S/S equipped Tele to a p90 neck pickup when I couldn't get the pick guard to flatten.

Excited to try it out this coming Saturday after I spend the day redoing a broken brake line and replacing a CV axle with a torn boot on my Mercedes...

I have played a heavy one like that. Like it was made out of solid ebony. But heavier :)

I'm in luck, it arrived early, and it is nice and light (for a tele).

Going to dinner so I only got to mess with it for 30 seconds before we had to pile in the car.

Been absolutely slammed at work trying to prepare for a vacation this weekend and my last two weekends were spent doing car/truck repairs so maybe next week I'll be able to get some pics added.

Not sure why the guitar was marked down as much as it was other than the box was missing and the control plate was dirty. Kind of surprised it did not get damaged as poorly as it was packaged in a box not really suited to shipping a guitar.

Great! Enjoy your vacation! Glad it arrived well, considering.
