I've heard these things are amazing. Anyone ever had one, or the something similar (RG100es, 170es, century)?

I think mine is the rg 100. Sometimes I like it but too metal for me. I'm doing that now and should try it again.
Made a decent bass amp in a pinch

is your rg a head or the combo? the -es had the knob that pulled out for extra-saturation. by 'doing that now' mean you're doing the \m/ thing??

I played a 150 watt head at a San Ash in Nashville. RG1500H I think?

It was better than I expected. Way better. They’re marketed and seen as high-gain amps, but I found that while they will definitely do that trick, they’ll also do anything else you want also.

It was an early contender when I was looking for an SS amp, but in the end, I went lighter, smaller and more portable.

I think mine is the rg 100 head. It always felt like I was missing some functionality without the foot switch. It seemed to metal for me at the time too but it was also used as a bass head and did ok so I need to reevaluate things.
