NAD - Enter...Stage Right

Just picked this up on Mac Bid. Luckily was in perfect condition and works as it should. I like the cream tolex and the soft handle. Very basic tube amp (and my first tube amp) with an 8" Celestion speaker. It's 5 watts but can be brought down to 1 watt. I think it sounds pretty good and gets loud. I have only played with it a little as it's been a busy week and haven't checked to see what tubes are in it - but I'm assuming they're some non-branded chinese tube.

I've read some people have success swapping the tubes for something better and upgrading the speaker. Might be something for future consideration. Anyone have any experience with this one? I got it for like $55 - Mac Bid is a little addicting - I should stay off that app. Merry Christmas AGF!

I didn't see your earlier post to see what you were bidding on but that looks like the Monoprice Stage Right amp. I have the bigger brother, (15 watts). Enjoy! My amp is just about the best value tube amp I've ever bought! I'm not a tube connoisseur, but this floats my boat very well!

Congrats on the first tube amp. For me there was not turning back, at least not yet.

I had one from the original run with the controls on the top vs the front. Great little blues amp.

Crate Palamino's and their Club series were fantastic amps. I was an authorized Crate warranty repairman from 1987 to 2002 and got to see them on their release. Now that I live in the St. Louis region, I actually met and have talked with the designer of those amps, Obed Kahn. I believe @golem has bought some equipment from him.

@andrewsrea I bought one of his Reason amps used. I asked for a badge (mine was gone) and a few NOS tubes (the bambino amp uses mini tubes).

I think it's Obeid Khan. Edit: people around here who know him do pronounce it like "Oh-Bed".
"Hi my name is Obeid Khan, welcome to the site. Thanks for stopping by to learn more about my creations. I started out as a guitar player needing to repair my amps, way before the knowledge base of the internet. I ended up working for one of the largest musical amplifier manufacturers, St Louis Music. At SLM I designed many classic amplifiers for Crate and Ampeg, the original Vintage Club and it’s variants, Ampeg Diamond Blue reissue amps, the B15 reissue, Ampeg SVTDI. Also I was designer of the Reason amplifier line, and most recently the new Magnatone line of amps. I always try to connect with the player sonically with my designs, I hope you will find this to be true as you learn more. The amplifier is a tool to make an electric guitar sound. These inherent rules I did not make, but I live and abide by them! Enjoy the sounds of classic and modern music with KHAN!"
