The Tone Hunt Narrows

Howdy all!

Today’s tone sounded great in the room. It transferred ok through my phone but real mics would definitely be an improvement. So here’s what I’m working with at the moment.
Excuse the Schwanging. It’s not very good lol. I was just enjoying how this one line get and sounded in the very loud room.

Clean boosted sound. Utilizing a fuzz face and rolling off.

However, I am going to begin saving for a Kingsley Maiden D. It does exactly what I want. It’s only a six month wait too, I’ve waited far longer for something to be made so I am game!

What is your tonal journey consisting of these days?

Mine has me with a 50's Standard Les Paul, Original Series, and a Kendrick 2410. Still sorting pedals out but right now I'm running into a Keeley Comressor+, into a Tumnus Deluxe into a Slo reverb. Sounds really nice but I still need to play with the Tumnus...I just bought it yesterday so there's some fine tuning that needs to be done.

Compression is something I definitely want to play with!

Haha heck yeah! Thank the lord for cool wives! It’s just a fifteen watt combo, but I get it up enough that she’s warm to the touch. She’s hip to the fact that good tones come at high volumes Image

I am truly happy for you Brian because IMO a happy, dedicated marriage is the greatest life there is.
I thought that's what I had married her in 1982 we both had kids and total custody of them from a previous marriage things were great for many years when my health went south and I landed in a wheelchair she couldn't deal with it and just before thanksgiving 2018 she said she was sorry but couldn't spend the rest of her life with someone in a wheelchair so Merry Christmas and that was that.

I've really been digging this new RotoChoir pedal I just bought used for 150$. Its of a discontinued model, but is very warm and versatile. I've never had a Leslie emulator pedal before, and now I am surprised at how many great hits used Leslie rotary speakers. Badge, Angel, Let It Loose, Let It Be, Sunking, Coldshot, Tightrope, Couldnt Stand The Weather, .......

Even as just a low speed wash it is very enhancing like a mellow univibe.
This is still the Honeymoon, however, I think its a great tone tool.

Heck yeah!! A Leslie type would be awesome to throw in the mix. Any clips or videos?

No clips or vids, of me.
But of course plenty to appreciate on topic.

They are pricey. 300$ is about average for new models that have good rep for getting close.
Strymon Lex has been called tinny, too digital sounding. Also "awesome".
Neo (?)......Ventillator and its mini-vent version get good reveiws.
El. Harmonix has one too.
The Tech21-Rotochoir is richly warm, but all are used now, and 250$ seems about average.
I jumped on a 150$ on reverb. Its awesome.

The choices and high price warrant good research as one guys "awesome" can be another's dud.
But, the general category is a great thing to have. I'm loving it. Its on my board now.
